He played 53 games last season for Rangers so clearly wasn't past it. Just one game this season so far, however.

He's a centre-back.

Maybe worth a shout as cover?

He was with the ressies a few days ago.

Get him signed till end of season. His experience is vital. Is Ertl our only cover at the moment????

bit of extra knowledge for harry maybe? teach him a few more tricks of the defender.
as back up fo 1 match suspensions etc, yeh if hes cheap enough.

If his xperience is vital, then how have we been coping without it? :)

Can't say a 42 year old sets the pulse racing. LJF can cover at center half too, can't he?

Not too fussed either way provided that he's cheap.

I didn't say anything about us not coping. I was just saying that IMO, having him as cover at centre half wouldn't be a bad thing, SO THERE!!! ;)

If he comes as a package with those Scottish referees who are always looking the other way whenever he fouls someone, get him in.

I'm in Dazzler pedant mode, sorry. But you siad his eperience was vital. I'm strugging to see how it's vital when we've won 10 out of 12 without it.....:)

Does this mean that Morgan has suffered another reaction to his knee? In his last interview he said he was just about to step up his training.

These can play centre half currently:

Collins
Maguire
Ertl
LJF
Lowton
Kennedy (has just made his comeback and should hopefully be available soon)

My mate, a rangers fan used to laugh about him last season. He said he was amazed at how he was still playing. Couldn't fault his desire to play and his attitude to keep playing despite his age. Said he should just fucking retire, but still did a decent job in a Rangers side which is all but stripped to the bare bones

@ GAZBLADE - got to admit, alco has a point

I don't think it would be a bad signing, no substitute for experience and how many times had we been under the cosh late on and crumbled

Remember though that we brought in experience in the shape of Flitcroft, Akinbiyie and Horsefield to 'seal promotion' in 2005/06 and it almost backfired. It was when we returned to our early season line ups that we started winning again.

We need some cover at centre half in case something happens to Collins...LJF there will shred most fans' nerves

At least with Weir we shouldn't let in floods of goals....

I'll get mi coat

David Wear

David Wear is training with our boys and looking for a club according to the BBC Saturday Lunchtime programme. (from his own mouth).

Might be usefull as centre half cover or at right back to let Matt Lowton further forward. His experience might also be usefull at marshalling the defence on the pitch too. He's not easily bullied either. I think that it will be on a free so just need to find his wages.

For those who think that he might be too slow, can you remember a certain aging left back that helped us to promotion, David Unsworth ? (Also he put us down with his penalty for Wigan).

Is he worth a go?
