Is caretaker manager for Everton's last game of the season. Was a good full back for us and, despite the painful memory of that game against Wigan, I hope he has a good future in the game.

Nah fuck that, he looked perfectly chuffed to send us down. I hope Everton succeed though, if I had a 2nd English team they would be it.

It takes exceptional circumstances for me to wish anyone well once they leave us anyway.

I used to like Everton ,until I went to Goodison for the night match a few years ago ,then realised they are same as Liverpool ,just plain scum ,with their whiney accents ,begging money ,threatening my 13 year old son when there are about 12 of them. Shit away end too ,crap view, wank facilities ,then we drive home past Utd coaches which had to stop because the brave fuckers had stoned them. To top it all they nicked Jags and gave us Weir. Hope they appoint Steve Maclaren. Oh and Z cars is so 1970s.

Unsworth was a pro. Would anyone seriously expect him to do anything other than his best to score?

The painful memory upon which people ought to reflect is why the ball was on the spot in the first place. Perhaps the Everton player Jagielka would care to explain?....

Worked in Liverpool for a while and had a load of mates who were Everton fans. One of those "middling" teams that never seem to trouble the top, and never seem to be near the bottom, just float along in mid table mediocrity

I've probably been lucky to be honest, all my experiences with Scousers have been positive ones. I tend to find them much more down to earth and easy to get on with than say Mancs for instance.

I remember the Everton fans being very complimentary about our away support too when we played them in the Premiership.

Have you been to Goodison and Anfield ? Its never an enjoyable experience.
Maybe Ive just been unlucky but Im not on my own ,seen plenty of other getting shit ,including coaches full having to have windows changed.

Admittedly I've never been for the football, maybe I'd have a diiferent view if I had. I was talking more about the people I've met from Liverpool in general.

Agree entirely about Anfield but strangely I've never had a problem at Goodison and the guy that did most to keep me sane when I lived down south is an Evertonian so they'll do for me

You need to go to a game (Tranmere is the same ). Ive been to Liverpool for non-football nights out etc and had a great time. The City is great and Ive had good experiences when working but football just makes them wankers.

They are very quick witted and can be good craic.

Agree with Sitwell, there's always been lots of trouble when we went away to both clubs. Didn't a young lad get his face slashed in a pub there in the early 00s?

That was certainly a hallmark amongst the hooligan contingent around Liverpool so I hear. I think Tranmere were even called the 'Stanley Family'.
Apparently though, the hooligan firms of United and Everton had a pretty good relationship in the 80's.

Fuck him off . A wanker who took great joy with the penalty for Wigan. Why ow why are we even talking about him. Yes his level --- caretaker .

UTB

Didn't Unsworth come back to us in some capacity a few years back? Youth or reserve team or some such? Huge irony in he and Danny Weber scoring the most vital goals in our promotion, and then having such a big role in our relegation a year on.

Bert went twice in the 70's. We lost something like 3-0 and 5-0. The place was a nightmare with trouble every inch of the way. They can all rot in hell.

Tranmere away could also be 'interesting'. Seem to remember they took great exception to us drawing there in the fourth division season. Didn't we score a late penalty to equalise? Then I think they got a penalty which Waugh saved, all of which prompted a hail of seats being thrown onto the pitch from the stand to the left (if facing the pitch from the away end).

And when leaving the ground we were treated like prisoners of war.
