yes, but he needs to do it again next game and the next - one of our problems is inconsistency from many players all over the pitch.

What was noticeable was that as noted on the 'Lump it up to McBurnie', when Ollie plays we play long punts up to him and hope for knockdowns, but tonight because we started with McG and Burke, the team were forced to knock it around more. That's not McBurnie's fault either.

Fleck had his best game for quite some time... coincidence?

We have a team full of followers who just look at each other for someone to produce something, he's the one bloke who actually can.

I think we start the way we finished. It's been our "Plan B" for a while now, so we should be fairly well drilled, and it gives Wilder an easy out for it as well. McGoldrick effectively plays a free role. Ampadu anchors the midfield. It's Brighton as well. We need to go for it.

I think we start the way we finished. It's been our "Plan B" for a while now, so we should be fairly well drilled, and it gives Wilder an easy out for it as well. McGoldrick effectively plays a free role. Ampadu anchors the midfield. It's Brighton as well. We need to go for it.

Maybe, but personally I will be surprised if Wilder tries that from the start. Brighton can counter well and have pacey forwards.

I think we also need to keep in mind that Man Utd were 3-1 up and looked to have gone into energy save mode when we changed to the diamond (80th minute roughly). It did help us move higher though, I agree with that.

Didzy's two goals allow us to avoid one dubious record: lowest goals by a top scorer in a PL season. He now has 4 (and well done him) and nobody from Sunderland managed more than 3 in 2005-6.

Such a shame all Didzy's goals (and his cup goal) have been in defeats.

You do know that this is all wishful thinking.... as soon as mcburnie is match fit he’s straight back in then it’s back to hoofball. Wilders faith in mcburnie really baffles me, we look more like a footballing side with him not in it. He has his uses I suppose but shouldn’t be a starter, maybe a late sub when we’re a goal up, it would give the opposition something different to deal with and his defensive contribution is decent.

McGoldrick has to start in the Duffy role against Brighton, its a perfect role for him and us.

He often drops back anyway, he's great at linking up and finding a pass and I think him playing there will get the best out of any of our striker partnerships - and thats including McBurbie.

I really hope Chris saw the difference it made the moment Didzy started playing there. The game finishing the way it did certainly lifted my mood and the view of what we are capable of, really hope we start against Brighton with the team and formation we finished with.... please Chris
