Sheffield United manager Kevin Blackwell has not ruled out a move for Manchester United's Lee Martin, a former loan signing at Bramall Lane.
Despite signing David Cotterill from Wigan this week, Blackwell told BBC Radio Sheffield he was still monitoring the 21-year-old winger.
"We just said we would like to be kept informed. Lee is very keen to come back again - that's a mark of the club."
Martin played just six times on loan last season due to a knee injury.
Meanwhile, Blackwell has given permission for David Carney to join up with the Australian national squad for the Olympics.
Blackwell told BBC Radio Sheffield that the 24-year-old winger would benefit from the experience.
"At this point in time he is behind one or two in the pecking order and I felt that the Olympics would give him exposure and games," he said.
Is it just me that thinks the bit in bold is Kevin Blackwell, trying to tell us he wants to sell him? Hes behind one or two in the pecking order and may get more EXPOSURE in the Olympics? Exposure for what? Making clubs sniff around him??
