Only seen glimpses of him in a couple of substitute appearances,

Seems to be a good footballer, which great technique, an eye for a darting run and looks great on the ball, although I've not seen much. I'd like to think there is another about him to come through a lot more towards the end of the season

What is the verdict from the more regular u23/youth observers?

Whilst bowing to those who've seen him more frequently, rodcurrie, redandwhitealwaysablade,BlockD and others IMO he has a lot of potential but needs ro beef up. If he does that I can see him being in or around the first team next season. Has pace, trickery and an eye for goal.

Looks young and slightly built, but does not shy away from physical challenges, very good all round footballer, pacey and skillful. Once he fills out a bit he will be a great asset to the club.

After some of the younguns i've touted as being of the required standard, I think i'll stay schtum for D. Brooks' sake. :)

Seriously, he has the potential to be a top top player, knuckle down and make it happen for yourself DB.

Us Blades love an up and coming youngster who has the talent he does, I hope this time we get a chance to see it in bundles and an injury or being sold doesn't reck his chance of a long and successful career with the Blades.

He was released by Man City (I think) because he was too small and too slight. He's grown a lot, and begun to fill out since then. I could see him coming in for Duffy late in games were cruising in, or replacing Coutts or Fleck in a similar scenario. In January he may well be loaned out.

Here's how Brook's Blades career will pan out

- goes on loan to League 2 and does well.

- Forum goes wild as the first team lose a game, Gerrim back!

- Returns to SUFC after successful loan. Doesn’t play

- Months pass, Coutts has a bad game, Gerrim in!

- Meanwhile his international career within the U18’s and U20’s goes well

- Plays a few first team games. Looks average. Forum claims in uproar – “He’s shit”.

- Rumours of Man U, Barca and Real Madrid float around

- Goes on loan. Scores. Gerrim back

- Swansea offer 500k plus a bag of mitre delta’s, plus another 1million based on appearances and U21 appearances.

- We ask for some tracksuit ‘matchwinner’ tracksuits as well and accept the deal

- Forum in uproar.

You forgot his regular 'tweets'

Young brooks is a talented lad but physically 18 months away .as said before for a lad that looks 14 he doesn't shit it .hopefully the lad shows us some loyalty as we gave him his second chance

Brooks is a talented lad, great technically and I really like him, but if he's not going to figure from the bench I'd have him out on loan to toughen him up and give him 1st team experience.

I think this is something that we moved away from. Both Naughton and Walker had loan experiences at 17/18 yet now we seem to like players to play in the reserves. Players like Semple and Slater for example should be sent out on loan even if it's just to get to know a new workplace, so things don't become easy.

If his name was David De Brook we could chuck in some casual hate.

I don't think it was just casual hate with Diego. I think everyone got pissed off with the shit attitude one he got involved in the Italian age group teams, the attention seeking on social media, and not forgetting the fact he was involved with the gang of immature children such as Adams, McGahey and McNulty.

The same Block D who raved about Steven McGinn, Tony McMahon and "best full back outside the championship" Bob Harris?

How many times do you hear 'he was released as he was to small' ? That's the staple excuse for ,not good enough ,hopefully in this case its another big mistake. I personally think hes got it and will do well for us ,.

Yes Brookes looks like a 12 year old, yes he looks 8st wet through, yes he looks light weight but if you watch him week in week out he is without a doubt a real talent.
I am not sure how he fits into the team at the moment but he is gifted. Maybe in L1 its too physical but in the championship and above, with a little more room to play he will be fantastic.

I would send him on loan just to give him that physical side and by the summer he will be ready.

Jamie Vardy with the pigs?

I think we should sell him for the first million pound offer that comes in
You joke, but If we did that for every young player who people got excited about, it would be good business.

Jamie Vardy with the pigs?
In the middle of reading that grunting ,tramps biography. Hope its going to get a bit more interesting now hes signed for Leicester ,Sheffield Rangers was the most interesting so far. Seriously though its a shame hes a pig ,as being a fellow Sheffielder in the Sunday leagues it gives hope to all young players.

It used to be Man Utd policy for their youngsters who were never going to make it with them. They used to sell many many players for 1m after the golden era of Beckham etc;

Yep, worked for that Walker chappy ;)
