David Brooks' untold story

Giggs would have qualified for England through residency, he moved to Manchester at 6. On a pedantic note, his father was half Sierra Leonian, half Welsh.
Even in those days? Technically, he hadn't changed nationality by moving to England, he was still British. If he was born in France and moved to England he could have obtained British nationality and then been eligible for England (I think).

Great article Danny. I'm puzzled why some on here feel the need to abuse him when he is obviously such a massive Blade. I loved his Bolton "put down" on twitter the other day:

That was a bizarre exchange. That kid or his mate laughed at the example of Monty and Quinn coming off the production line, then held up Josh Vela and Zach Clough as shining lights of the Bolton academy. Why they seem intent on creating a rivalry with United, I have no idea.

Good article, almost on a par with this one: :-)

A Sheffield mum has hit out after being 'shamed' for using the disabled toilets at Meadowhall with her baby and pram.

Vicky Laban, from Hoyland, was shopping with her one-year-old son William in Meadowhall on Monday, October 9, when she needed to use the toilet.
The 30-year-old said she decided to use the shopping centre's disabled toilets as her pram would not fit into a regular cubicle.
However, as Vicky left the disabled toilets, she said she was met with a disapproving elderly man who told her she 'shouldn't be using' the toilets. The mum-of-two has now posted a message to Meadowhall on Facebook calling for more 'accessible toilets' for shoppers with prams

How very dare you! Journalism at its finest? Does anyone even read that Shitwipe anymore, unless someone who works for it posts a link on here? Let alone, buy it!

Was this an "Exclusive", like the When Saturday Comes fan fiction?

Hang on, Sheffield mum? Hoyland is Barnsley isn't it?

Be fair. Much of the local news is sloppy but Danny's sports articles are generally very decent.

Finally a heartwarming local news story with no one looking at a grass verge and you nitpick about basic facts such as where the silly cow comes from.

Anyway, why was she pushing a pram full of coal around Meadowhall?

What a fucking liberty, I actually said "What yer doing bitch, I've pissed me sen waiting for you coming out of there". Bloody reporters.

The Daily Star would have reported you had your cock out.

He is Premier League bound. 95% of 1,200 votes so far on the poll suggest so, too. I don’t think a slight niggle against Forest, resulting in him being rested, means much

Fair point, but as a journalist writing an opinion piece, you don't base it on a poll, you're basing it on your opinion and I suspect that line would be in there anyway. And whilst he's been impressive so far, his extended run in the first team has been because Sharp and Donaldson have been injured (and possibly Evans not being fit) and partly because Leon is suspended. With all four fit, I expect he'll be appearing from the bench more.

He has Premier League potential but he's played 3-4 games and didn't get on for Wales. I think it's far too early to say PL bound myself. Your opinion though and not an unreasonable one in the slightest.

He has so much potential, I just hope the hype (from everywhere) doesn't get to him, but I think he's in the right place to keep his head screwed on.

Cracking article that, What I keep doing with that 5 minute video clip of Brooks doing Hunt is when camera shot is looking towards the crowd, I keep pausing it through his nutmeg routine to see the expressions on fans faces change as it happens....wonderful

The best young talent we have ever had at the lane EVER !
Pity he had to wear his Dads football shirt though .
Don't know how old you are wavy, obviously you never saw Woodward, Currie and Badger not to mention Jones and Birchenall.

The Chelsea youngster you are referring to is probably Sammy Ompreon. I saw him recently for the U19 Futures v Swallownest MWFC. I thought he had a quiet game. Although he made one of the goals.
George Broadbent & Jean Belehouan have both been brought into our Academy from Manchester United fairly recently.
I'm pretty sure Rhys Norrington-Davies was formerly at the Swansea City Academy.

Must be - I only heard his name mentioned in the video but know nothing of him. Staff seem to rate him highly. Good to see that we're continuing to pick up these Premier League prospects!
