On BM predicts we will have our no1 target

"Genuinely can't post the name, or I would never get any more info. All I can say is he was the number one target, and was approached while Clough was still manager. Off out now with Mrs 78, will post tomorrow."

Not Hope Powell then!
:D

So who was our number one target?

Hoping its Karl Robinson. He's only 34, plays football focusing on his team rather than the opposition, and although he had to build up to it he won promotion from this league. Reckon He'd be the man to have us at the top end of the table for the whole season. 2nd choice would be Adkins as he's been there and done it in this league. Probably the lesser risk of the two aswell.

Aren't the men making the decisions from the Middle East, Turkey and the states? When did they bump into Dave this bank holiday?

If he's to be believed and an approach was made before Clough was sacked, it surely can't be Robinson (or anyone else employed) as we'd have to have been given permission to talk to him by his club surely? For me, that puts Adkins as the most likely candidate.

Robinson's contract expires this summer

I would like KR but do not agree with that ^^

MK Dons change their tactics dramatically when the play us. They turn into petulent rule breakers. Stop-start play throughout and try to sucker punch us with a 1-0 win.

Everybody else they play they just hammer

I don't give a stuff how we get out of this league - the MK way will do me, at least they had more plans than Plan A

Hang on, their manager changes his approach depending on the best way to beat the opposition? Sounds like witchcraft, I'd rather we tried the same tactics of boring the opposition into a stupor before sneaking a 1-1 draw - aka a "good point".

Read what I was replying to mate.

He states that he doesn't focus on the opposition. He obviously does as he changes his game plan to suit.

Personally I'd like a manager that focuses on his team AND the opposition. He's only got all frigging week to think about it; it's not asking much.

I know; I wasn't having a go at you although the inability to put the correct tone on a forum post makes it seem like I was.

Every manager wants his team to be able to outplay all the opposition Barcelona style but the reality is that isn't always possible. MK Dons were able to outplay almost every side in this league but when they came up against the other sides in the top 5 they modified their approach. Funnily enough, they ended up finishing higher than us.

I also don't really care what a manager says (within reason!) if he's getting the results.

Is there the same Bosman rule for players where we can approach ahead of expiry? Didn't think it covered managers.
If not, then the compensation wouldnt be that big if a manager decides to go to a different club at the end of his contract

His main focus then. At times with Clough we were scared of the opposition, I don't think Karl Robinson sends a team out in that way. Showed no fear against Man Utd and smashed teams we'd scrape points against.
