One of the most interesting hours I've spent on anything for a while.

Whether people think he's a dickhead or not, he had some interesting things to say that we don't hear enough about from ex footballers. As for Pulis, some of the football Middlesbrough played under him when we were in the Championship was absolutely woeful

I didn't know he ended up playing for Wilder at Oxford. Unsurprising that Kitson is a fan of Wilder as well.

Great listen - where do i recognise the interviewer from?

Has done quite a few books "exposing" life as a footballer. Stories from inside clubs, etc. Not bad reads tbh. Started as a column in a paper i think.

Was loads of speculation on who it was and i think theyve nailed it down as Kitson, based on timings, etc.

That's right, although I think some of the later books had contributions from a few different players, all anonymous of course.

What was his answer when asked about his regret in football? He answered by saying “I wouldn’t have gone...” I could work out what he had said after that.

Enjoyed that video (I'm up as far as when he quits Oxford as soon as Appleton walked in). I like him. Very well spoken and seems honest. Doesn't seem a player who chased money but left Stoke and Portsmouth for example when he was unhappy.

The way we signed him is embarrassing though. Fancy skulking round the swimming baths.

I'm not sure he knows the ins and outs of the ownership battle though. To suggest McCabe was shit on suggests he has only heard one side of it - the wrong side. As though McCabe has been playing the victim, which isn't surprising.

Edit: He said Wilder was sacked at Oxford. I was under the impression that he'd never been sacked? Did he leave or has someone got wires crossed?

I think Wilder bailed, before he was pushed, it was getting crazy at Oxford.

Tho' it wasn't actually sanity at Northampton, Wilder did the job ........ the rest as they say :)

Do you really think that Simon McCabe went trawling round swimming baths looking for somebody who could play centre forward?

It is far more believable than him ringing Kitsons agent. Do you think Kitson isn't telling the truth?

Interesting listen, one thing of note he says he gets on really well with Chris Wilder , but there’s no job for him here, I suppose it’s what he’s saying in the pod cast that you should mix your friends with your work, but overall I found the interview sad but interesting.

I wondered this too but clicked through and found that this video is part 2 of the whole interview so he's referring back something in the first part

Kitson comes across as a down to earth guy. I follow him on Instagram and he's just a bloke having a laugh.

Is it the posh voice that puts you off?
No just the touch of racial stereotyping he chucks on the Internet that’s the main thing I think

The earlier 1hr 20m part :

A really good listen that. He talks a lot of sense apart from his obvious misconception that McCabe was pure as the driven snow when it came down to the ownership dispute. It’s hard to believe that Kev would play the victim.

Im just watching the first part now. I’m certain he’s the secret footballer now. He’s asked what the celebrations were like at Reading when they got promoted, almost word for word he’s repeated what is in one of the books about walking down the stairs with his parents and their fans singing his name.

Coming off the back of Pulis, and then Gaydamak's asset stripping of Portsmouth, KMc must have appeared as Snow White!
