Ok, so Danny Wilson is an extremely controversial appointment who may or may not succeed. Some will struggle to understand McCabe's logic on this one.

What I actually find more difficult to understand is why McCabe has seen fit to give the man a 3 year contract. Does he need reminding that he went through FOUR managers last season alone?

Has McCabe not thought through a scenario where we're in the bottom six three months into the season and the fans are screaming for Wilson's blood? I hope he doesn't dare complain about how much money he's put into the club when this one goes t1ts up and he has to pay off another manager.

Think you may be right Bolton. Unless he starts unbeaten in the first 5 games then the fans will want him gone (Even more)
Maybe a large derby win at Swillsborough and Danny boy doing a Jose style run to the Bladefans like Jose did at old trafford while he was Porto boss may bring people round.

BUT I DOUBT IT

All my piggy mates (I know I shouldnt have piggy mates but I am from S6) are loving the appointment

Danny doing a Jose style run to the United fans would annoy me, knowing his history. A simple 5-0 thrashing of the S6 lot followed by a slightly smug interview by DW would suit me to the ground

of course it will, Wilson will be going nowhere before Christmas.

I doubt a 5-0 thrashing of the unclean will happen in McCabe's world of selling off talent and replacing with also rans.
He will back his latest scapegoat with empty promises, little funding this is the same board that has masterminded our tumble down the leagues they haven't changed.

3 year contract again? I suppose McCabbage will never learn

i see this is the latest in a long line of situations where mccabe has done the exact opposite of what he said he would do. I fully expect to see the squad full of loan players next season and struggling in the bottom 6

I've decided to give Danny Wilson a chance. I'll remain neutral and objective when assessing his footballing decisions, and I hope he brings us success.

But.

It's remarkable that even out of work managers get these kind of deals. Do a crap job, get sacked after a few months, and you're still guaranteed to get the same amount of money - then move on to a new club. 3 years. No wonder we're selling youngsters at this club.

It's a 3 year rolling contract which usually means that is renewed annually subject to a review, meaning that the liability for paying up to terminate is somewhat reduced.

Danny wilson is a fat piggy b******** like sheff wed
Yes but now he's OUR fat piggy b******. Best we can hope for is he gets us playing football (I know that's hard to believe given some of our players), hangs on to the kids (not in a pervy way) and gets a few convincing wins. Then we might tolerate him. Not like him, just tolerate him.

he must have a clause in his deal that we can get rid off him or something down the line i guess
