chill out! we got a point, away on a tuesday night against a side on fire.

we'll get another 20 points, Weds will get 21, so its us by a single point. iv decided.

The players arent panicking so neither shud we. this is football. its unpreditictable short term (who foresaw our 8 game winning streak or whatever it was).

Over the season, u finish where u deserve. we are the second best team in this league, we're going to finish second. just u wait and see.

and we still have Collins and KMac to come back into the team.

Actually, we drew against a really poor side. They were awful and were there for the taking. We blew, yet another, golden opportunity. I have just got back and am really disappointed. Definately 2 points dropped.

It was a shocking game of football. Colchester were terrible first half and we were not much better. However we controlled the game and most of the possession. We looked solid and they looked clueless. We showed a bit of quality and went ahead.

Second half we were just looking good and bang. Just as we seemed to relax and were playing our best stuff, we switched off. They then scored a cracker. We fell apaprt afterwards. Our game went to pieces and they could have scored more. The game levelled out, but it was like watching Blackwell's United. We hoofed everything, looked clueless and were really static. Evans was excellent, but noone went with him. Wilson left the subs too late, but in the later stages we looked the better team. We finally stepped up a gear and got the ball on the deck, but it was too little too late. For all the possession, we were wasteful. Blasting long crosses when everyone went near post and being wasteful in the final third. You could argue that the ball did not drop for us, but we lacked a bit of quality.

Tonight was mightily frustrating. I think a point was probably fair overall, but the really annoying thing is that we could and should easily have won.

Agree with most of that. It wasn't a good game, but given the situation a point is by no means a disaster.

We look a different side at the back with Collins in there, and a completely different side with McDonald in there. Both are set to return soon, potentially Saturday - which will likely give the team a lift.

BBC Radio Essex were saying they thought it was a cracking game with good football played by both teams. They said we were on top until Colchester scored .

Guy on the bus to the station after the match said it was probably Colchester's best performance of the season. I thought "damn", if that is so, I wouldn't want to be here every week...

At last - a decent post on last night

Not that I pay much heed to Keith Edwards who usually just spews negative rubbish but he said that last night's performance was much better than the one v Brentford.

Is that just nonsense?

Yes, basically. A mate text me that and I was surprised. Last night we look really disjointed. We didn't threaten that much (despite lots of possession and getting in good areas) and we didn't look as solid. I never felt Brentfiord would score on Saturday, but last night after they scored I was worried we'd concede another. Brentfird was a good solid away performance, where we took our chances. Last night I thought we were poor. People could argue it was a decent away point, but I doubt anyone who witnessed the game first hand would think that. The consensus (and certainly my opinion) seemed to be that we'd dropped 2 points and missed a good opportunity.
