Excellent article:-

"And there’s only one way to put this: Mills is wrong. It’s not a difference of opinion. He didn’t air a concern that facing better opponents may force Wilder to adopt more conservative or direct tactics, which would be a valid point to make even if things didn’t turn out that way. No, Mills made a factual assessment, and it’s factually incorrect, because it’s based on… well, what is it based on? Memories of playing against Sheffield United once for Charlton 12 years ago? Seeing a homegrown squad and staff without sexy names? Assumptions about football in Yorkshire?"

There are two possibilities. One: Mills has watched Wilder’s Blades, either live or as research for his job as a pundit, and this is his honest conclusion about how they play. Two: he hasn’t seen much of them and he made an assumption by drawing on the club’s previous incarnation as an up-and-at-them team under Neil Warnock, among others. If the latter seems harsh on Mills, the former seems even more baffling.... ETC

He has clearly not watched us play under Wilder and uses the lazy "Sheffield United are a direct team" wankery, as he is a lazy arsehole stealing a wage doing punditry any half arsed sofa fan could do! Utter and total idiot.

Just read that ,great piece but mills is just one of many
We've been spoiled this last season with the likes of nttt pod ,Ben bloom and Colin Murphy amongst others with excellent representation from the blades pod lads

But unless we have an absolute Stormer of a season it won't change

Good article, we have to go and prove ourselves again this season. The Cardiff comparison is one that really grinds my gears and lets face it the only reason we get compared to them is the warnock factor “oh that’s right warnock was their manager last time and he plays direct, so that must mean Utd have continued to play that style of football for the last 12 years” absolute joke! And do me a favour, The second thing that annoys me is the blatant suggestion that we will “always struggle to attract players” this club once/if established in the premier league has the support, size, manager and pull of the Uks 4th biggest city to handle the pressures of the premier league over many other teams in the division that can’t boast the same attributes.

Ive quite enjoyed being the underdog over the last few years, but it does frustrate me that pundits get paid to give their opinions that should be based on solid reflective research not sloppy connections.

UTB! Come on wilder show em no f#@king fear!!

Some of the fuckers do absolutely no homework whatsoever. I’m looking forward to mentions of our pitch not suiting the opponents, even though it’s been relaid and will be like a snooker table, our “industry”, “steel”, “cutting edge” and other nonsense, our gritty style, how direct we are even when we’ve got the patience and slick passing build up that they won’t be familiar with, and other shite.
Pundits will be referring to big name players opposition by name, our lot will be “the Sheffield United player”, and of course when we play Manchester United they will be United and we will be Sheffield.

Good to see this type of ignorant punditry pulled up.

Eadie and Parker are two of the most embarrassingly ignorant comments I've heard in the last year or so when describing how we play.

Parker described us as big and strong in the middle of the park "as you'd expect" when Fleck, Duffy, and Norwood were regulars around that point.

Being paid to talk about stuff you know fuck all about because you once kicked a ball. Nice work if you can get it.

Mills at again just now on Talkshit.

Ray Houghton complimentary about us and saying how great to see connection between fans and Sharp.

Mills made salty comment about 'their fans go on about overlapping centre backs...pretty sure they're underlapping' then went on to say how we'd struggle and not score. Blamed bad defending for our goal.

Maybe holds a grudge for the stick he got when we beat them in the cup twice in 2003.

He’s just been publicly humiliated by 442, if we stay up it will ‘prove’ he’s an idiot. He’ll be desperate for us to go down.

Why doesn't he just say we all smell and that we have big noses ? Why give the useless horrible twat any of your attention ? Or just bombard Talksport in the same vein as 442 and put the nobber out of a job.

All good points except 'the pull of the 4th biggest city'. That's bollocks. Size of the city is completely irrelevant - it's what's there that matters, and as unpopular an opinion as it is it's way behind London, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds and Liverpool in terms of the kind of thing that most footballers want. Sheffield is great if you like the kind of things it offers - world's biggest village, doing things our own way, lots of greenery, top music and creative scene - but most footballers (or indeed a lot of non-footballers from outside of Sheffield) couldn't give two fucks about the place or what it offers.

Some people are just simple minded idiots.

He’s one. He can’t help being thick and narrow minded, sadly there are far too many of these idiots in the country, those who can’t be educated and simply regurgitate what they’ve heard.

What is inexcusable though, is that he is being employed. His boss needs sacking along with the idiot

They don’t have to live in Sheffield though. JOC doesn’t. A player could easily live in the Cheshire footballer belt and commute. We’re not Newcastle or Sunderland, location won’t be a problem for us.

Talksport are like the social media of the airwaves.

Too many presenters on the WUM for attention.

Diarrhea Pills and Talkshite are made for each other and feed off shock comments to attract the ghoulish listeners they need to exploit to make a living. By all means take all the constructive criticism dished out to us from informed managers, coaches and considered opposition fans. Roy's views shows some who dont wear our rose coloured glasses, occasionally see some of the warts we dont. For the others just tuneout and flush them away.

If I walk into a Board Meeting (my audience at work) and talk utter bollox with no supporting evidence, it will be “Hillmorton Blade exits stage left” not to be seen again for a while. If I do it again? Gone.

442 have done a great job on Mills, it’s not just Blades, they’ve highlighted this incestuous industry of thick as mince ex footballers suckling from the TV teat. I mean... Gary fucking Linekar??

Talksport
The Sun/Daily Mail
Good Morning Britain

All of the same breed, all of the same business model; rile people up, generate anger which in turn generates interest which in turn generates clicks, retweets, viewers, sales, etc.

Just ignore them all. Dont watch, dont listen, dont read and FFS, don't bite.

Katy Hopkins is the perfect example; she’s spent 10 years purposely riling people up to stay relevant. And all the people who fly straight onto twitter, facebook and the rest complaining about her just keeps her firmly in the public eye, which- shock horror- means television and radio shows want her on because she attracts viewers and listeners who want to get angered by her. The people getting triggered and offended and complaining about her, are actually the ones keeping her in the public eye. Same with Talkshite, etc.

Just been listening to Talksport and after the first weekend Adrian Durham says he’s revised his PL relegation predictions and thinks out of the 3 promoted teams Sheffield United have the best chance of staying up. He now predicts we’ll gain enough points to stay up.

His latest assessment of SU.
Watched them against Bournmouth and was very impressed with their all round team play, their determination and spirit reminded me of Huddersfield under Wagner in his first season and I think they’ll do much better than people think. Said he was really impressed with Callum Robinson and he looked a PL standard player and far better than he thought he was when he played at Preston. Darren Gough also said he thinks SU have a good chance of staying up and his reason is due to Wilder buying loads of strikers and attacking midfielders. Goughy said scoring goals is one of the main keys to staying up and if one of our strikers loses form, then we can play someone else. Said he hopes we do stay up.

Adrian Durham said the only issue that might cause SU problems is that they were very physical against Bournmouth and go right to the borderline of what’s a foul. He said there was a 1minute spell where 3 different Bournmouth went down after being challenged and Kevin Friend gave no foul. He said other refs might not be so lenient and also opposition teams could fall down holding their legs trying to win freekicks, which could cause problems to SU’s chances.

Regards Norwich. He said great going forward but so naive to not buy any new defenders.
Said they play good football, good up front but their poor defence which he said is easily the worse in the PL, means they are going down.

This post was bought to you by our good friends Greene King, Selco (it’s where the trade goes) and Checktrade.com.

Clearly has a chip.

Anyone bothered ?

Cock 😀.

UTB

He doesn’t have a chip at all, he’s playing a game as part of his job.
The role he’s been given at Talksport is to be controversial on the wind up, hoping for a reaction, get publicity, tweets, callers. earning his salary.
He’s the bad Kop and Goughy is the good Kop, that’s their programme format as a form of entertainment.

One day he says Arsenal are losers comes up with loads of (arguably valid) reasons why supporting Arsenal is embarrassing, then he invites callers to argue his points.
The Spurs fans probably find it entertaining.

A week later he says that Spurs are losers with loads of (valid reasons) why supporting Spurs is embarrassing, then he invites callers to have the balls to call in and dispute his reasons. The Arsenal fans probably find this entertaining.

As I say it’s one big game and this format obviously proves successful for a big part of the population driving home from work.

Appreciate that we are in a difficult time when we are all encouraged to be nice 😀.

But if some harm could come to this prick, that would be good 👍.

Be happy to volunteer 😉.
