If nothing does come off though, I'm sure we can all agree that at least we know we were looking for the right players in the right positions and we've got a manager in charge who sees things the same way most of we do. Burn and Hammond would have been outstanding at this level and really shored our spine up. If they don't go anywhere we may have an option for a loan deal. There's reason to still be optimistic I'd say. Not withstanding we have significant players still to come back from injury and we're doing pretty well with what we have.

That's him, Ed Upson, just looked on Wikipedia.

He signed for Millwall in Jan 2014 and has played 39 games for them with 2 goals. His contract runs out next summer.

I agree. But we should all be disappointed that given the Murphy fee, and several weeks, we've failed to act.
