He also put that new presenter on the back foot towards the end of his radio interview, when it was insinuated the Stearman change was to shut up shop !

Do you have the linky to the full interview?

Yes, why did he react to that question? Those were sensible subsitutions, putting another defender on to help defend high balls, while moving Basham into midifeld would give us more bite there, coupled by Washington's pace for counter attacks. It was just a shame that they scored from that free kick. If they'd scored before the substitutions I doubt we'd made the same ones.

Agreed, the timing of the subs / goals was very unfortunate and i suspect Chris was particularly frustrated at that, hence his deffensive response to the question.

He has come across as rather agitated in the last few interviews, i hope this is nothing more then frustration at a low points return given the level of performance / dominance we have shown in those games.

I would imagine that he is as frustrated at the lack of improvement from last season as we all are.

Couldn't help but smile at CW's comment along the lines of ''I'm sure we'll get to 50 points quickly and be safe for another season in the championship next year"

Well that’s good then cos it backs up what he said pre-game when the reporter asked about promotion. Wilder said something along the lines of ‘that will only happen when certain things happen off the pitch’. So, in other words, ‘Take your coat off, sit back and put your feet up cos this is where we live…’

And when they were only halfway up, they were neither up nor down.. as I believe the song goes.

So now we are just saying we are crap in segments ,like the 43rd minute or the 82nd. You judge a game on the whole game ,we were excellent and deserved more than we got. We weren't 'crap' .
we go crap after we’ve scored or half time or international breaks.. hmm.. there’s a common thread there

I think he may have taken it as the reporter suggesting that by bringing Stears on we invited them on. I thought it was a good change as Basham can get up and down the pitch at that point in the game.

So we wernt crap for pretty much the whole secons half at Derby after being brilliant for the first half? Last night we were brilliant for 70 minutes and crap for 20. It helps if you keep a high standard for 90. I really don't see what you have an issue with. Is it against your rules to post what you see with your own eyes unless it's fawning simpering praise even when it's undeserved? Wilder dosent do that and neither should anyone else.

Point me to all this fawning, simpering praise?

Careful sitters, Bill's obviously has his one good eye fix(ated) on his view of how we play, and no one will deflect him from believing that only he has the insight as to why we're the crappest side he's seen. Thank god Bill is on our side, at least it'll ensure that the moaners and groaners know their place and don't think above their station.

Disagree silent, one of the main things to frustrate me especially over the last two games has been just how poor we have become after scoring a goal. We absolutely battered Derby until we scored then we looked dreadful, we did the same last night, dominated Stoke, made them look poor, we get the goal and we stop playing, start panicking and giving the ball away and being well a bit shit to be fair. It is an issue that is worth discussing and needs addressing by the coaching staff imo.

It's not so much that but the outrage at anyone offering a modicum of critical assessment. Its getting like NKT on here.

I don’t think there’s an issue with any criticism. That’s just a line trotted out to defend unmitigitaed bilge by a small group of people who probably aren’t the full shilling. It’s unjustified criticism out of context. Context being we’re joint top of the league.

That would be the same argument trotted out by the same people no matter what the league position except you would be saying "Context being we're safely mid table" or "Context being we're safely clear of the relegation zone". That you dismiss anyone's quest for improvement and ultimately excellence as "criticism" is just a reflection of low ambition, low expectations and living in Sheffield for too long.

At least we don't get booed off like Middlesboro did. There's a lot of our fans who's main reason for living is too slag our own fans off, they haven't a clue what the fans at other clubs are like

I'm sure Colin Murray on Quest last Saturday said that, in the last 68 league games the smoggies have gone in front, they've won 61 and drawn 7.

I think in fairness, our game management wasn’t great following our goal. I’m sure it will be the main topic today for the team, Tufty and his whiteboard. We’ve come a long way to be disappointed that we haven’t taken 6 points from Derby and Stoke, still plenty to be optimistic about.

In golf speak, we just need to improve our putting - we should be talking about a sloppy consolation goal conceeded with the openings we created.
