CW Recruitment

Think a number of people are unfairly jumping on CarlMcBlade here. it’s a valid point and one that isn’t disproven by quoting where we are in the league.

Summer recruitment in our current league position is not all that relevant.

Moose has been great no denying, granted we are less than a 3rd of the way through the season but so far Robinson, McBurnie, Ravel have looked unimpressive, Freeman and Osborn are yet to be given much of a chance. Discounting Henderson here as he was with us last year.

You would expect a newly promoted team spending what we spent to be reliant on the new faces but as of yet that’s not the case.

Of course its a marathon not a sprint and there is no doubt the new guys have the required quality to play a significant part but can anyone really say that Moose aside 10 of their 11 first choice starters weren’t with us last season.

We are evolving and getting a better squad with each passing transfer window. We are not yet at the stage where we can afford to buy ready made prem stars. We have to buy players with the potential to be a prem star - but of course, not every player realises his potential. On the whole we have recruited magnificently.

I am delighted that the majority of last seasons players have again raised their game and, by and large, kept their shirt. Wilder is no mug or sentimental manager - if you don't produce the goods, then there are others waiting in the wings to have a go. As long as the Prince provides adequate funds, we will continue the same recruitment formula - improving the squad all the time.

Criticise the management team.....really?? Chris will be as disappointed as anyone how Robinson and McBurnie haven’t hit the ground running. As I suspect neither of them were bought as bench warmers.
Freeman’s situation is slightly different because our midfield haven’t really put a foot wrong.
As for Mousset, he has the obvious potential to be an absolute super star.

i’m not sure whether your just on the wind-up but i don’t believe for one minute wilder will be disappointed with mcburnie and robinson’s contribution on the pitch.

both are young men, playing in the best league in the world for the very first time at a new club in a new part of the country; he will recognise there will be a period of adjustment. i’m certainly not disappointed and recognise the above.

i’m confident wilder will be judging their contribution to the group as a whole and part of that will be the pressure these players are placing on the starters to perform.

incidentally, it’s very likely wilder will be dissatisfied with mcburnie’s behaviour off the pitch, anyone in their right mind ought condemn drink driving.
