Didn't he have another twitter tantrum last year and declare that he's 'done with United forever' after being overlooked for a job at The Lane?

I always liked Curtis, can remember him in our midfield as being a battler and if his knees weren't made of eggshells he'd have probably made it at a higher level.

Since he's retired though, for me, he's become a bit obsessed with himself and overcome with the fear of being forgotten. Always trying to get himself into the news by either saying over the top statements to anyone with a microphone in their hand, chasing down twitter trolls and doing interviews about it to anyone who will listen for years afterwards or talking about how he was pissed out of his head for most of his appearances that had won me over all those years ago. Not really very respectful to the club he claims to love so much.

The fact that he's such a showman and a 'look at me' type doesn't really remind me over Wilder at all. I can understand why he would want to follow in his footsteps, but it probably starts with not doing interviews like that one above in the first place.

With all that in mind, it's probably gonna be a 'no' from me. Fair play for winning the boxing title though. Can't take that away from the lad. I hope he does make a career out of the game and continue his remarkable life story, but you can bet your bottom dollar we won't stop bloody hearing about it if he does.

Mate I've been saying I'm done with united every weekend for the last six years! (Barre this season).

Proper Blade is our Curtis, but let me tell you this if we were ever in a boozer and he started mouthing off about the blades and he spilt my pint....I'd.....I'd just go buy another and offer him a bag of pork scratchings as compensation!

Once a blade and all that jazz COYRAWW! Championship is gonna get smashed!

I like beer!

Good luck to him.

Be surprised if he manages it though, without speaking out of turn but I don't think he has the patience to work his way up to it.
He was a clear star from a very young age, and he was treated as such, which as a kid I don't believe does any favours. As a result, success came easy for him and I don't think he manages well with knock back and failure. It's just his personality.

Shame he wasn't able to make the most of his ability on the football field, I honestly think he had it all and should have had a long career at the top.

He's grown up a bit since his early days here but unfortunately for him I think that's how a lot of people still judge him. You can't question his determination though and if he follows the Tufty route why not? It's a bit judgemental to write him off now, right at the start of what he's setting out to do. I'd put my money on him personally.

Not writing him off, I would just be surprised.
Hope he reaches his goals, but don't see him sticking to it long enough before he moves onto another target. 15 years to get where Wilder has.

He wears his heart on his sleeve, doesn't he? Bet he was embarrassed about it afterwards. But wouldn't hold it against him at all. His affection for the club isn't in doubt.

Always had a soft spot for him & strangely or not he remains one of my very favourite SUFC players - passion & guts personified.

His problem is Twitter.. I'm all for opinions and I'm a big fan of twitter but not sure football League chairmen will be too keen on taking on someone so publicly opinionated so to speak..

If we ever need Curtis Woodhouse as manager we'all be back in League 1 or worse so I hope it never happens.

Not to mention that horse racing and football 'insider' betting tips website that he keeps promoting.

A good, if slightly underachieving, player, a very decent boxer and obviously doing fairly well at management in non-league.

However, as his Twitter explosions demonstrate, he's a loose cannon which would put off the majority of league chairmen giving him a chance, as it would me if I were one

Yes, even at this current age he still seems not to have figured out that it's never been his talent that's held him back in life. It did look like the club had been a bit disrespectful to him, but it's a fair guess that his tendency to Twitter tantrums is why United might want to distance themselves from him. I enjoyed watching him as a Blade, and I enjoyed him as a boxer, but now he's looking to coach or manage at a decent level you've got to give at least the impression of professionalism.

I admire his determination and tenacity, but I echo derekacorah's comments - I hope we don't need to turn to him as a manager, because it'll likely mean we're in trouble.
Maybe he'll prove me wrong but I never saw Curtis as being the particularly smart, analytical type of player who could get to a high level of management, he always seemed more of a blood and guts kind of guy (sometimes literally)
