They'll probably need a result to clinch a top 4 place - that'd take priority over the cup final for them. Big chance they'll lose at Liverpool and be in 4th place going into the last game meaning if they lose to Wolves a point for Leicester means Chelsea finish 5th.

They'll get a full week break anyway before the final for the first time since the restart so no real need to rest players anyway.

Exactly; the point about Chelsea resting players with a possible CL place on the line and a full week's rest afterwards makes absolutely no sense. As does the fear about Southampton that I've seen from plenty on here. They have the second worst home record in the league and are sitting in midtable. Yet a lot seem to think we have no chance of beating them.

i guess it's just a way for people to dampen their own expectations so that they don't get too disappointed if we do miss out.

One game at a time. It REALLY is that simple for us now. We don't even have to have our ears on the radio or anything. Beat Everton, then watch what transpires. Go to Southampton to win and again see how other scores fall.

The situation would be the same had we drawn at Leicester, a score we all would have deemed acceptable on Thursday...

Man Utd will beat Leicester though quite comfortably I feel so Chelsea wont need anything. I think Wolves and Spurs will win their final games quite easily.
Need both Man Utd to beat West Ham & Liverpool to beat Chelsea in midweek then its a must win for chelsea on Sunday as theyll be kicking off at the same time as the others on final day.

That said its certain to go the opposite way now that Ive said that as the rest of the results have gone against us in recent games.

We've still got every chance of playing in Europe next season. Win our remaining games and who knows what might happen.

Well the combination of results fell at the first hurdle!
