I was looking at this vid. taken from the kop on Saturday. Given that the Brentford fans could easily have been 'condensed' further away from the SS (and there were hardly any near the SS) why were 100-200 seats in the lower corner of H Block 'out of bounds'? I doubt if we'll ever be allowed to fully sell BLLT (2,200?) as, with teams like Derby, Pigs, Barnsley and half a dozen others bringing large followings, no doubt SYPD will try to set a record for how much netting they can put up.
One of the many benefits of our new-found status is bigger away followings and the revenue they bring in, and I feel the current set-up at the Bramall Lane end needs looking at or we'll lose a lot of money. Unless we can prove that we can just about fill BLUT, I'd give it to away fans with a 'sensible' sterile zone between them and the Westfield Corner (maybe a 'vertical net' between them as seen behind the goals in Europe?) This would leave BLLT to our fans - a crap view, granted. But no less silly as giving the entire BLUT to the likes of Fleetwood, as we did last season.

It's been covered many times of course and I'm pleased that the away fans are in the lower tier now, with a bad view.

I think what needs to happen is for SAG or the Police (or whoever it is behind the segregation), to inform the club what is required to allow for seats such as those in the bottom corner of the South Stand, to be sold. We were able to do it in the Premier League, so why not now.

Publication of the report into Hillsborough.

I thought I read somewhere that starting this season away fans now have to have some access to the pitchside rather than being stuck high up in a corner. If so this would rule out giving them just the BLUT. That said it makes no sense that the lower part of H block and John st are netted off as there is a natural barrier keeping fans segregated more like the SYP aided by SAG just want an easy life.

SYP in combination with SAG must form one of the most retarded pair of authorities anywhere in the world.

They truly are very very special.

Clueless, lazy jobsworth wankers who specialise in addressing problems that don't exist, to nobody's benefit whatsoever.

No reason not to sell the whole Lower Tier.

No reason not to sell all of the South Stand and John Street.

Basic common sense needs to prevail here ASAP because it's fucking ridiculous.

How much further are they going to net off? Half the John St and South Stand?! Are we going to see the erection of that stupid wall again?

If they actually had any real problems to deal with, yes to all the above. In fact we'd probably have to play behind closed doors. They could use their little toy wall to block all the turnstiles, just to be extra safe.

It's becoming a restriction of trade for some games.

It's a shame away fans aren't given decent seats. Adds to the atmosphere. But it seems to be the fashion these days.

It could only happen in the backward shithole that is Sheffield.
Incompetent police, incompetent security, incompetent local authority,

Thank God it's so irrelevant that the terrorists don't even consider it a worthwhile target

Blocking of the corner of their North Stand wouldn't have had the slightest effect on the outcome at that match.

Yes, but the report has led to a climate of fear and panic at SYP and the SAG. Consequently, we are paying the price for that with overzealous policing and ridiculous safety restrictions.

Here we go, Derby have sold out their allocation...... of 2396.

About 500 below the capacity of the lower tier.

If we carry on handing out unnecessarily low allocations for away clubs then not only will it cost us a lot of money but our own fans could pay for it at some stage with these clubs refusing to give us extra allocations.
Derby are a prime example of one who might do that, because there'd be demand for way more tickets than the minimum allocation, but we don't even offer them the minimum.

So given that we are told how many we can sell in each section are you saying that we should give em a different part of the ground, and risk making it difficult for home fans to get tickets, or do you not think there will be sufficient home demand to justify the current policy?

The Premier League have brought it in as a rule from next season.

I'm simply pointing out how those restrictions will and could cost us.

I'd like us to just give the away club the lower tier every game - but the whole lower tier. I think we'll always sell a decent enough amount in the upper tier for them not to have any complaints with that. But holding back 500 tickets for no reason is a piss take, even if it's not the club's decision.

Another option when we don't sell as many in the upper and there's high demand from the away club could be to give them the John Street side of the upper tier, while still allowing our fans on the central bit of the upper. But no doubt that would be a death hazard as it would mean less than 2000 seats of segregation.

None of this discussion answers why the corners of JS and SS are blocked off when the adjacent wings of the BLLT are blocked off likewise. The one on the SS is particularly absurd as there is a tarpaulin (yes) sheet hung up so you can't even see the away fans from there. If there is a reason for this then SYP/SAG should state what it is. It's fucking ridiculous.

So you're just having a moan for the sake of moaning.

Typical bloody Blade ;)

I agree but we're never gunna know.

It dunt work like that ;)

It baffles me that we have to restrict certain parts of the stadium. Watching highlights the other day I notice Fulham have a mixed section (presumably for families) where anyone is welcome to sit. You look at some games in the Prem where it's only a line of stewards keeping the fans apart. Yet when it comes to United it seems to be the belief that if you can see or hear the opposition fans then you're far too close & something needs to be done about it.

Is it because we have a large number of seemingly inbred supporters who will even fight with each other if someone has a different opinion to them?

I don't think so...do you? Cos if you do, I'll smash yer face in!!

Are we only going to receive 2300 tickets for Hillsborough next month? If we are does anyone have any idea how many loyalty points are necessary to get a ticket?

Northampton last season - we got 1400 tickets and I think it was those with loyalty points in the mid to top 30,000 who were able to purchase them.

I'm sure Sunderland housed the Derby fans in the upper tier which is both good and bad.

Potential for a high allocation, but a crap location for away fans.
They are pal (just copied Newcastle), top left corner,

I've heard the latest news is the massive are having all the top tier, behind the goal and all the way down the side

If we need seats that are 50+ metres away from away fans in a different stand segregated, how do the pigs expect to have both sets of fans in the same stand?
