Was you at Blackpool away in the old 4th division? I remember sharing a police car with a Blade over from Ireland.

Fucking hell it was indeed , few pints in a few pubs brought by the police , you must have been the one they took off the coach on the way home mate was it . ????

Yep, did a tour of the Blackpool night clubs with the CID in tow. Remember the Sunderland coaches also in Blackpool on a nightout. If I remember correctly, you was indulging in a bit of a dispute in the middle of the road :D:D:D
Fuck me 34 years ago, and one of the few times I was in a police car without any duress.

And no we never got the guy.

Was in " many " disputes in the middle of a few roads over the years supporting this club of ours ;)
We got a good few free pints that night , I was going back to Halfway that night , but they dropped me off on Manor Top .
The fuckers , took me about 2 fucking hours to walk , weave , well you where with me that night I'll let you guess which one home ;) On the way to my mates gaff , didn't Derby show up as well that night , cause I'm sure I remember em moaning about getting rag dolled .

I saw you comments to seanbeenstattoo derf, so I know you mentioned this 'true blade' nonsense with your tongue in cheek. But it's worth raising the point that there are many Blades who are unable to attend home games, some through living too far away, some through working anti-social hours, and others, like myself, who, because of health and mobility issues, struggle to get to games. In part I'm fearful of being in a large crowd that is unaware of my presence and I find myself pushed and shoved to the point where I fall over and cut my legs, something that can cause further infection resulting in lengthy stays in hospital, so I hope that description helps in understanding that we're no less passionate, no less dedicated, just unable, for one reason or another, to get to games the way we'd love to. I try to get to half-a-dozen games each season, it's a bind but I manage somehow.........I only mention this to demonstrate the variety of issues that prevent many of us from attending. Having said all that, what a season.....so far UTB
 
Will top 20k tomorrow - is that important other than the 3 points? Damn right it is, we need to grow support momentum, we need people interested and excited, we need to push forward.

It's a touchy subject " derf " mate , a lot ( me in particular ) on this site would love the chance to have a few pints , a proper fish cake , and roll up to the lane on a regular basis mate , but unfortunately a lot can't make it .
No offence taken , but next time you'll be getting a mention in the honours list by getting an OBE .
Or in its proper terms "One Behind the Ear " ;)

You can't blame anybody that's had it up to the backteeth with what we've been served up

Like it or not, big attendances give an indication of a clubs potential, it provides a feel good factor because big crowds will only turn up consistently if the team is performing well.
I personally think our 19,000 in League One is fantastic, but it is not as high as it could be if the fans really had something to believe in.

A decent run of results and performances over 6 weeks isn't going to change a lot of people's minds immediately, but if the level of performance keeps up we could be looking at 25,000 + come Christmas time

I remember some parts, I called my girlfriend (at the time) in Sheffield from the police station, she was well pissed off and hung up on me! She thought I was just having a good night out in Blackpool on the pull.

Well i'm a student at the University of Sheffield, so normally just pick up tickets from the SU box office as they're cheap at only £7, i've been doing this for around three years now and today is the first time ever that the box office has sold out of them.

A Blade fan got stabbed at Backpool that day, it was on their end, and lets just say we some how found ourselves in the wrong part of the ground sorting the ***** out.

It was 30 or so years ago.
