Crowd threads have been done to death on here with some highlighting how fantastic and hostile the Lane can be and some bemoaning the lack of atmosphere. It’s one of the Forum’s more polarising subjects.

However, there’s no excuses for Monday night. None at all. We simply have to be at our hostile best.

No “ohh the team have to give us a performance to shout about before we get going”, or “it’s fucking freezing” or “it’s Monday night, no time to sup any ale beforehand” etc.

This team deserves our very best on Monday and they’re gonna need that extra man. We need to make it our hostile best.

COME ON BLADESMAN!!!! Sing up Shoreham!!!

Ps I hear from Facebook that the fans group Shoreham Boys 89 have another meeting with the club to discuss atmosphere. Any representatives on here?

Monday can go down in history.
It can be one that you refer to for the rest of your lives. The game kids class as the "best game they've ever been to" when they're old and grey.
It could be the loudest and most exciting game for decades.. if we do it right.
I worry if we go infront we'll quieten down in the nerves, and if we go behind it turns to groans and frustration. The good thing is, most of us would be happy with a point, so unless we are getting battered there's no need to turn on the team.
Chris and the lads have earned our optimism again. Give it your all 💥

People can do or act in any way they want to, without judgment from anyone else.

“Sing up Shoreham” is by far, the most annoying chant at a football match. Try getting a song going rather that just shouting that over and over waiting for someone to start a song.

The players do need to get the fans up for it. It’s part of the job. All it takes is a big tackle, or a couple of em closing someone down with intensity and atmosphere lifts.

Just focus on yourself, you don’t need to worry about anyone else. Sing all game on your own if you want and go home happy. I personally wish the atmosphere was better, but I honestly don’t lose any sleep over it.

Just stop moaning

And this is why atmospheres are wank at home.

People bang on about the atmosphere at Elland Road being electric and feral but a packed Lane for a night match is just as electric and intimidating.

I don’t think anyone should have any worries that the atmosphere at the Lane will be crackling on Monday night.

It’s all up to Leeds on how they deal with it. They can do it when the crowd is on their side but I think when they rolls reverse they’ll not like it

Do the players think that the home atmosphere is poor or is it just supporters ? Often mentioned by players how good it is: is that just toeing the party line or do they hear on the pitch something different from those in the stands ?

Won't be hostile, will have a section of idiots that clap Bogle and ampadu before and during the game 😂(by all means do it after the match, no issues with that).

What about using fake crowd noise with specialist speakers, like Liverpool do lol.

No all seriousness, both the crowd and the players need to be at it from the off. Both set the tone for the match and be relentless til the final whistle.

since and including the Covid year, we have had a lot of gut punchers, that aren’t obvious to people not supporting United. We started COVID 5th in prem and when we came back we were losing first championship game of the season. Then when we finally got up, we sold best players and went through a horrific football season.

It’s not obvious but we’ve had some sore ones, including the awful ways the blades legends have departed the club in that time

Of course it’s the party line. It’s no coincidence that all players when signing for us say something along the lines of “I’ve played here on the opposite team and always found the atmosphere really good” - same on social media after each game, even when we know full well the atmosphere was crap. It’s pure Pr and remaining on side.

I love 'Sing Up Shoreham' - absolute classic.

Can't believe it's not sold out.
Same here mate, seems our so called fans are saying it's to expensive, probably why fans of other clubs never take us seriously, maybe the new owners will also realise it eventually, and think bolloxs to this let some fucker else run it!

It is too expensive, absolutely no question about it, that's exactly why it's not sold out. They aren't so called fans who aren't going, they are genuine fans well within there rights to say fuck off I'm not paying it.

Will it be the same fans, if we gain promotion say the same thing, or will they moan they can't get seats, and bellyache about loyalty points system?

I would like to think that much of it is genuine, but I have never been particularly cynical.🤨

Are we any more expensive than other championship clubs?
Pigs seem to be charged a lot, would question wether they would sell out if they were in the same position , its still a week away , moan about it then.

They are just trained to say “great atmosphere / fans great” at the end of any social media post. The fact the atmosphere is currently pretty dire is testament to the fact its just nonsense.

Well no cos we've been in the premier league twice recently and about 4 games in total have sold out and nobody has ever missed out on a ticket at bramall lane who wants one, loyalty points system is absolutely irrelevant for home games so fuck knows what your on about.

Yes we are, quite easily more expensive than everyone other than Leeds and Wednesday, Leeds are a huge club and not in any way is it a comparison, would Wednesday sell out at these prices I very much doubt it, they don't even sell out against us at silly prices so I'd say not no.

Barmy Army? Eaaaggulllssss? Seeeeaagullssss?

Are just 3 that spring to mind....

The crowd definitely lifted the team against Boro, but as has been said for time immemorial, it's a two way street and what the players do on the pitch impacts the crowd just as much.

As it happens (and to quote Wilder) I think this one will take care of itself in both respects. I expect plenty of noise, and a season's best performance. Hopefully we are not disappointed on either count.

Spot on.

We aren't a collective group of fans with a shared love for the club and a desire to support them, we should just "focus on ourselves", "sing on our own" and not think about the impact or lack thereof of our collective contribution to the game.

Kop just needs to stand up for 90 minutes

It's easy

Even easier in fact - two stints of 45 minutes

But seemingly that will never happen ever again

Here is the man that could get you all raging...as they quite frequently do.....btw the last Leeds game he did was the 3-0 against the Pigs, the last game he did of ours was the 2-1 win at Watford.

There is no such thing as society. There are individual men & women and there are families. As someone once said.

If it's a back and forth game, the crowd will respond. If it's like the 2nd half of Leeds' game last night, with United mostly defending their box and hoping to find the odd counter attack here and there then it'll be nervy and quiet
