S24SU ratings of the past 5 games:

According to the ratings given by users on this forum, he's been our strongest defender in each of the last 5 games. I for one think he's been very solid and deserves a bit of credit for coming through what was a bad patch early in the season.

Not saying he's performing spectacularly or anything, but he's proving he's worth the shirt, at least for the moment - something a lot of people thought he would never be.

Perhaps he knows he can give an extra 20% and is doing so in hope of gaining a new contract at the season's end. He's shown his true colours too many times for us to fall for this. One can only hope Adkins & Co. see this too.

Alas, I think Collins is giving all he possibly can. Which is still fuck all because he's shit.

McEveley has been noticeably better with Woolford in front of him. Pretty much because it's like having two left backs in there :D

I don't mind him and he's pretty dependable. He's another that will definitely be leaving in the summer though, at some point we need to start bringing Wallace through??

He's been good lately, very good at points but doesn't offer enough going forward for me at all, not with Woolford infront of him at least. It's got to be time to give Wallace another run soon, he's the future.

in answer to the OP question - then yes, in recent weeks.

I would expect ANY player like McEv to pick up - there will be a lot of exits in the summer, one way or another if we are 3rd tier next season and should we manage a PO final victory, probably even more.

I think you will find that is the other way round and that J Mc is improving Woolfords game. In the Coventry game for instance J Mc may well have had a cardboard cutout in front of him. Just look how Woolford looks to
J Mc during a defensive situation for guidance.

To be fair we have different expectations and standards for Brayford than we do the others.

Ok being objective, he has played better so credit due.

However I always feel like an horrendous gaffe is just around the corner. He's just saving them up for a really key game.

they all make my dick shrink back inside

'Back inside' indicates to me that your dick once resided inside your body but now lives outside. You imply your penis is some form of advancing and retreating appendage, not too dissimilar to the second mouth/tongue belonging to the creatures of the 'Alien' films.

Seeing as the Kardashians are all over the internet and TV, and I also know that you're a season ticket holder which means you witness the defending of James McEveley on a regular business, it is assumed that your dick is popping back in forth out of your body at least 50 times a month.

I highly recommend you get this seen to by a medical professional. If the cunning ways of Mr. McEveley manage to hoodwink Nigel Adkins and his peers, gaining him a shiny new contract, your penis is in for another 10 months of in-out-in-out madness.

Good post and the mental strength to turn it round shows me he is worthy of being captain. Similar to what Doyler had to go through. Yes we do need a better left back that is able to attack more but give McEveley his due he has started attacking more too.

Well, given that every penis begins life as a clitoris before taking the male form, its technically feasible that if ones cock was to retreat inwards, it would indeed be going 'back' to whence it came.
But you're right, 10 more months of McEveley/Kardashian will be too much to bear.
All I want from United is to sign a decent centre-half whose performances give me a near-constant throb-on and I'll be happy enough.

Yes he's back to pre handball against Spurs form which is good to see

Agree, in general McEveley is an good defender with a bit of Championship class about him.

The problem is that his style of play means he'll try an ambitious pass or do a dummy and a dribble from the edge of his own box. He also lacks concentration every now and then,

In conclusion, an excellent defender who is prone to 1 or 2 blunders a match that can lead to giving away a goal. If he cuts out the mistakes then I have to admit he does have potential based on recent displays.

To be fair we have different expectations and standards for Brayford than we do the others.

I feel this works both ways - if Brayford is guilty of poor marking or defending, it's unlucky or a lapse, certainly no one gets on his back and boos him throughout the remainder of the game, however if J-Mac does the same, he's a pariah and deemed useless forever.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of Brayford's but there is a diproportionate expectation of individual players depending on who is flavour of the month.

I've always liked J-Mac (there I said it!), he played well until the Spurs away game which coincided with a shoulder injury he carried for the remainder of the season. He played through the pain, made a few mistakes, and got booed by his own supporters - nice. Since coming back from another injury he's been reasonably solid and some now accept grudgingly is one of our better performing players.

Asking who's the best in our back four is like asking who the fittest Kardashian sister is.

The answer is none of them, they all make my dick shrink back inside when I see them and so does McEveleys defending.
I've liked it because I agree but it's all relative isn't it?
The whole team is as good as where they are in the league which is currently the 7th best side in League 1 - so individually and collectively, not the best crop of players we've ever had and possibly one of the worst. That doesn't mean it's not worth commenting on whether any of them have shown improvement or not.

He's been very decent over recent weeks. Has got zero criticism during that period too.

He made a horrible mistake for Wigan's first, but (literally?) no-one mentioned it as he was no longer Scapegoat of the Month.

Performances on the pitch and rantings and ratings off the pitch are sometimes totally unrelated.

I really like the way he smoothly dispossessed Rooney in the box early on at Old Trafford.

I like McEveley and never jumped on the get him out bandwagon ,however , apart from Matt Hill he is the worst thrower Ive ever seen ,he never finds one of our men.

My turds used to be a bit yellowish. So changed my diet for a while and now they're a nice brown colour. As you would say . . . . ."noticeably better"

Or in the real world of using the word scapegoat in it's correct form and not just posting it for effect:

No one mentions it because it isn't the norm in his current form it's the exception and he's Earned some slack by playing better like everyone does.

He has turned it round - with all the alacrity of an oil tanker ....

But yes he deserves credit.

I just would have liked the credit to have been due some months ago.

He's part of the gang of players who were absolutely woeful earlier in the season and are now playing average. Due to this rise in form theyvare getting a pat on the back but are still bloody awful. I can't wait to see the back of this gang which includes Long, Collins, Coutts and Woolford.

Coutts ,really ?

I wouldn't describe hitting the ref's foot with an attempted cross field ball which fell perfectly for their midfielder to setup a goal a 'horrible mistake'.

I dont mind admitting that he played fantastic at Old Trafford, most solid performance since he came, at 1 point I wondered if right mceveley had got on coach but if I compare the last 2 league games 2 mths part (dont ask sky work & ST mix up) I went to in person there was very little difference between Barnsley & Swindon? whether it was confidence or oppo fwds getting belief they can make something happen thru prior displays. As the back 4 still looked as nervous as ever like it's only a matter of time til we concede & in some cases we need 2/3 to get win or even secure a pt
