Yeah it is an open league currently but as with most leagues it takes 5 or 6 more games before it settles down. Not been that impressed with Chelsea, Man Utd, Arsenal or Spurs in the ganes i have seen.

City and Liverpool seem way ahead of the rest again. Spurs were dismal today and if Kane or Erikson are off they have a lot of mediocre players.

The problem is with this league it's not that normal for teams like Palace and Newcastle to win at Man Utd and Spurs. I hope we can use their example next week as we can't rely on just beating the bottom half teams at home...we actually did that quite well under Warnock last time but were abject away but still won 3 on the road which surprised me.

I remember we were awarded a penalty at Wigan, but then it was rescinded. No one had even heard of VAR but they managed to (correctly) revise a decision.

We got all our wins before Xmas last time and all deserved hard fought 1-0s. Outside of that we were garbage. Remember two bits of Stead magic at Blackburn and Chsrlton but even then we only got one point. Recall shouting at Kenny to move across as Pedersen took a free kick inn the 94th minute. It went in. Also recall a fluky cross shot from a Charlton player sailing over Kenny.

Every other away game post Xmas we were awful...Liverpool, Chelsea (Hulse leg break), Man Utd (although Shelton should have won a pen and playing 10 men at 1-0 I think?) We just threw up the white handkerchief. Villa away summed it up when we were 2-0 down after 15 mins and did not have a kick.

Can't even remember the rest of the games away but other than Charlton don't think we got a point after that Wigan game....we lost at Portsmouth, Boro, Reading and Bolton also.

We got 1 point from the last 10 away games!

Kane has had one injury too many & Erikson doesn’t want to be there. Man Utd & Chelsea are in transitional periods. It will be an unpredictable league this season apart from the top 2, with a lot of strange results. A good year for our first up there.

Was it rescinded as they'd reviewed it on the monitors? If so this shit just gets better. It's ok saying it was better to get the right result but if you are selectively choosing which incidents to review it smacks of cheating (and is). Comically not too dissimilar to the current situation.

The bottom half is gonna be tight. Our defence looks much better than relegation rivals though.

Norwich will leak goals (and score them, admittedly) Watford are already looking a bottom team. Villa, West Ham and Newcastle are gonna struggle.

Even with the teams who should be safe like Burnley, Palace, Southampton and Brighton, we're more than capable of getting something.

Makes it harder for us.. would much prefer the big 6 beat everyone else and then the relegation pool of teams battle it out between themselves.

Now they're picking up unexpected extra points (that they wouldnt have counted for at beginning of season) it means we may need to grab some shock wins as well.

Then again... it will probably all just average itself out as the season goes on and 38 points will still roughly be the benchmark.

As awful as Spurs were, credit to Newcastle who looked like the solid, 10 men behind the ball, anti-football team of last season again.

Will we go away to a big club and set up like that though? I don’t think we know how to.

Neither does Pochettino. Arsenal have replaced one has-been (Mertesacker) with another (Luiz). Solskjær isn't up to the job. Wolves are letting the Europa Checkatrade Cup drag them back. Watford, Bournemouth, Newcastle & Villa are iffy.
