UTAC??

From the usual, someone a friend works with, is a friend of coutts Family member who said...

That its actually an internal fracture of the bone and not a break, heals much faster and coutts could be as back as soon as 6-8 weeks. Something called a Greenstick fracture and why he didnt need surgery.

Might be bollocks, might not be, dont shoot the messenger :D
Like this.

‘Kismet’ is what he actually said

Stephen Fry said so.

Well Stephen has changed his mind. Unless Nelson suddenly began speaking in Turkish, the phrase wasn't in use in England at that time.

It's believed Hardy wasn't even with Nelson when he died.

Drink drink, fan fan rub rub.

He didn't wear an eye patch either.

(I'd get out more but there are French snipers around)

Kiss Me Hard is what he actually said according to Sandy Tøstvig the first-mates wife and I believe our greatest ever rear admiral left his arm on the beach in Tenerife as some careless tourist might leave a bucket and spade.

Ah the insousiance of our breed.

She would say that wouldn't she?

It was probably something like 'they've fucking done me, the shithouses' but they didn't think it would look good as his epitaph.

cant see that being right, his leg was show bent at a horrible angle and wilder said himself that couttes had broken his leg and would be out all season. although it would be great if what you say is true.

Aim...... Fire!!!! Seriously hope you are right

If I was the manager I would have him out there in his pot , he'd still skin half of the midfielders in this division with it on his leg . Couttsey !!!!

I thought he'd be out for season with a broken leg, but after reading this thread, I'm absolutely delighted he's starting v Birmingham.

Did you not see his through ball to LEON on Tuesday night against Fulham.

Apparently it was not his leg that broke it was a green stick someone had left on the pitch.

Might be bollocks

Speaking of bollocks, see that Mick McCarthy's been bemoaning the total lack of action from the ref yesterday after Glenn Loovens's latest horror challenge. Left David McGoldrick with no less than a four inch gash in his groin, one requiring surgery in likelihood - "a cut as long as my index finger and as deep as that", according to McCarthy.

Got to say I'm one of those in the "it was a horrendous accident" camp as regards Couttsy, not into any sort of anti-Sordell witchhunt at all. But still think it was shocking he got no punishment from the ref, no yellow card, no nothing.

You get booked for "excessive celebration" without fail, yet leg-breakers & groin-slashers increasingly get ignored by refs. All part of the media age, I suppose.

I had a greenstick fracture in my early 40s (it finished me but not because it stopped me playing football but the misdiagnosis made it go on to be fucking agony over the next 24 hours) anyway as it says in some of the posts above it is not limited to kids but more prevalent in them. It could be that Coutts has one as his leg wasn't braced against anything so it could have bounced back on impact. However I take this rumour with the same amount of salt as the 'operation' one.

Fracture and break are the same thing, but Greenstick fractures, most commonly seen in children, are when the bone is bent and broken on one side but not completely broken all the way through. If this is the case then it's good news and your estimate of 6-8 weeks is reasonable.

Lord Nelson returned to work half an hour after losing arm
Lord Horatio Nelson was giving orders 30 minutes after his arm was amputated, according to journals in the National Archive that illustrate the importance of medical skill in securing Britain's naval might.
That's the spirit up & at em Nelson probably never played in goal again though
After that he played wing half for Nelson FC in a friendly against Colne Dynamo.

Oh thanks for that......

A medical friend of mine who's been monitoring posts but is not ITK is under the impression he's not had intrusive surgery so no posts pins and screws but just realignment when put under and probably an initial plaster cast and then a second one later when the swelling has gone down. Unless someone knows the surgery was otherwise. Not as bad as it could have been but still out for many months though, takes along time to rebuild all functionality and reach match fitness.
