From the usual, someone a friend works with, is a friend of coutts Family member who said...

That its actually an internal fracture of the bone and not a break, heals much faster and coutts could be as back as soon as 6-8 weeks. Something called a Greenstick fracture and why he didnt need surgery.

Might be bollocks, might not be, dont shoot the messenger :D

I hope you're right. Wilder's not one for mind games but, if teams think we're in the shit losing one of our best players for the season, just for him to return could give us a huge boost.

I'd love it to true, but the wisdom of Google suggests that a Greenstick Fracture is of bones that are young:

A greenstick fracture is a fracture in a young, soft bone in which the bone bends and breaks. Greenstick fractures usually occur most often during infancy and childhood when bones are soft. The name is by analogy with green (i.e., fresh) wood which similarly breaks on the outside when bent.

Thought the same but apparently that was the analogy around his fracture, was splintered rather than snapped.

Lord Nelson returned to work half an hour after losing arm
Lord Horatio Nelson was giving orders 30 minutes after his arm was amputated, according to journals in the National Archive that illustrate the importance of medical skill in securing Britain's naval might.
That's the spirit up & at em Nelson probably never played in goal again though

Well his leg did a fuck load of bending on those pictures that's for sure.

Me likey a lot!!

When I take the kids to see Father Christmas, I might have a word and tell him that would be top of my Christmas Wish List!

Nelson used to be the World Wanking Champion... But on the other hand....

i thought a 'greenstick fracture' is what they call kids broken bones..when the bone is young and soft?

Drink drink, fan fan, rub rub.

Seems highly unlikely:

S5, if you had said he is out for at least a year I would have shot you followed by what do you know, load of bollocks, however I am now clinging to the fact coutts will be available to face the pigs, lifted my senses so to speak.

See my previous message, it was the anology used for the injury, more a splitting of bone than break, probably all bollocks of course but we live in one, one day one of these wank rumours will be proven AND I WILL BE THE ITK KING OF THE FORUM!!!!!!!!!!!!11111

Adults can have greenstick fractures. Just means it breaks like a green stick, surprisingly.

Hope it's true what you've kindly passed on, S5Blade but it looked well snapped to me.

Could well be true. I had one as a kid and had a pot on my arm for less than three weeks.

The photos don't really show much. It can often look much worse in a single shot. How many people have seen a photo of an actual leg being broken, other than that, to compare with? A broken leg can be anything from a crack in the bone to a complete break with the bones penetrating the flesh and sticking out.
