Could we go unbeaten in the League from this point

Could we go unbeaten ? I see 6 tricky fixtures but we could get something from any game, the remainder we should be looking to win so why not ?

Given recent results and that we are on the tele again on Saturday, I'd be happy to get through the next match unbeaten!!

I think we'll go on a good run, cement our place in the play-offs before the last match of the season then go to Bristol City and spray mayonnaise all over their concourse at half time. Brap, brap, brap #cokedoffourtits #punchapensioner #nopyronopyroandstuff

we dont need to go unbeaten
76 78 should be enough for a play off spot
last year it was 80 points but that s the only time its ever been that high and the bottom clubs are not that far adrift to give the top 6 high number

to get to that we need 11 or 12 wins

if as usual its 74 points for 6th 10 wins might be enough with a draw or two

Yes why on earth not, we’re a match for any we’ve yet to play on our day? Fulham looks the hardest but we can get something there like we did at Derby and Villa.

In all probability that eventuality can be quantified between 0 and 1...

Of course we could go unbeaten between now and May. The law of averages suggests, however, that the probability of doing so is virtually zero.

I had a look at the points needed back in November and the last six seasons suggest that 73 points is, on average, sufficient to finish sixth. On that basis, we need 1.7ppg to get into the top 6 - up from the 1.5ppg we've got so far this season and way higher than the 1.3ppg we needed when I wrote this after our 16th game (33 points).

I'm going with a finish between 7th and 9th - probably 8th.

Unfortunately not. Over the last 6 seasons, last season (76) was second only to 2014/15 (79) in terms of points required for the play-offs, based on the premise that one point more than the team in 7th would ensure qualification. The fewest points required for the playoffs has been 69 (in 2012/13 Bolton finished 7th on 68 points). Based on that, another 40 points from our remaining 30 games should see us in the playoffs and another 53 will see us promoted.

Not a cat in hells...

I can’t see where the next win is coming from, not being negative, I just can’t..

Not sure if this has been posted elsewhere but, I think we could, the only one I think we might struggle with is Fulham away. We had a great run in last season could we do similar this season.

My dad was a ray of sunshine when I spoke to him today, I said I’d be watching the match this weekend and he just said “3 sky matches and 3 losses, we’ve gone”. Cheers dad.

I have read some tosh on this forum, but is there anyone who has seen us recently who thinks we will not lose at least 5 more games before the season ends.

Stay unbeaten, I ask you!

Your question is “Could” we? The answer to that is yes. There is no other logical answer because it refers to the possibility of something happening and it is possible. So the answer is definitely yes.

If you’d asked “Will” we? that’s a totally different question because it’s about probability not possibility.

I suspect you mean “Will” we. To which my answer is “no”.

There seems to be a lot of people thinking we're just going to go on a fantastic run between now and the end of the season, you do realise we've only won 2 out or last 13 league games? We're on an awful run at the minute, why are we all of a sudden going to turn that round against Leeds?

We ought to be thankful we had such an amazing first third to the season cause at least it means we're unlikely to get relegated now.

Don't get me wrong, I would have snatched your hand off for a mid table finish at the start of the season, but from being top of the league to going on this current run? Sorry but I'm very disappointed :(

Burton actually better than us last 13

Just thought I would bump this thread, two from two since I posted this, still along way to go but....

Of course we “could”

I “could” have an affair with Jennifer Lawrence..

I probably won’t.

I dunno Harry, just you and her on a space ship for a hundred years - I reckon you're in there mate.

Well, either that or you'd lose out to that smarmy beer serving robot.

It’s unlikley, however if we’d had this squad at the start of the season we’d not have had the dip. We can now rest and rotate rather than tire out our players, and I’m confident we’ll end up in the playoffs.

"Could we go unbeaten in the League from this point" - is the OP question.

Well, yes we could, but it is unlikely, but we don't actually need to.

Take Huddersfield last season - their record come the end of the 46 games was : W25, D6, L15 with Goal difference of -2 - and just a reminder, they didn't win any of the play off games.

Our record today is W16, D4, L12 - so to match Huddersfield who finished 5th, we need to W9, D2 and L3 of our last 14 games.

Problem is we have 6 at home and 8 away, so we have to do the business away from home whilst at the same time trying to pick up lets say 5 wins out of 6 at home - which leaves us to win 4 away from Hull/Reading/Fulham/Ipswich/Brentford/Barnsley/Birmingham and Bristol.

On paper and considering the season so far, we have to fancy our chances at Hull, Reading, Ipswich, Barnsley and Birmingham.

It's a tough ask which makes games NOW of more importance than later on as catching up just never really seems to work. We must start putting wins on the board NOW, starting with Hull on Friday.

One thing is certain - we have the right manager - do we have the players to step up to the plate?
