The edge.
On the eve of our meeting with the humongous team that are premiership reading, and on the floating rumours of players leaving our un-humongous pile of bobar team-it is time surely for this lad to get the nod and perform his magic that is so headily reported.
Weve nowt to lose and need a spark from somewhere, and maybe tommorow is the perfect opportunity for Diego to strut his stuff up front with `Dave the hitman Kitson`
We need a shining light on the pitch at the club at the minute because we are going terribly stale.

I think it would be harsh for fans to pin hopes on the shoulders of such a young player. He deserves his chance, but lets not pin all our hopes on him.

Play the lad. Throw him in, let him loose. He needs game time.
We've gotta play him sooner rather than later so possible suitors can line up their bids for the summer!!!;)

hurrah,a blade with sense.
The lad's gotta play gav. We're not going to win the FA Cup so i would love to see a few lads get a good run out tomorrow, none more so than Diego.
Fuck the conservative approach Danny boy. Let's go to Reading and take the game to them. We may get thrashed, we may not.
If we did get beat, i know i'd rather walk away thinking, 'Fuck we gave them a good game.'
Just my opinion.

You can't possibly play him on Saturday, not while there's 5 days of January left FFS!!
Brilliant 1889!!
And yes, you're right, WTF was i thinking??
He get's injured tomorrow and we can kiss goodbye to the 200k we would have demanded for his talents!!:D

It's probable that if he plays, it'll either be too soon and we'll damage his confidence, or he'll impress in which case he'll be off in the summer.

I never shared the general excitement about youngsters coming through, because in the end they all want a move if they're any good. What seems clear today is that we'll flog them whatever they want.

The pot of tarnished monkey metal at the end of the blades' fans rainbow was getting wages in check and getting on an even keel. Sadly that pot's been kicked further down the road, and turned into a steaming turd.

The lad is now 17. Long, Maguire I think both made their debut at 17 in a higher division. I don't see the harm in him seeing more game time, and not Bob I don't think he is the saviour.. just would rather see players come through than buying more dross

the scenarios are:

1. we play play him, and he's not up to it. he goes out on loan to bristol rovers, does bugger all for them. they tell us he's shite but we keep paying his wages for the nest 3 years anyway, cos we'd look a bit stupid getting rid of him right away. then in 3 years we release him.

2. we play him, he does well. he get sold in the summer for a handful of magic beans an a toblerone. then goes on to be the next pele. goes to real madrid for £90m and weve put in a sell-on clause that gets us an extra toblerone.

3. we dont play him, he gets sold in the summer to tottenham for the magic beans but we lose out on the toblerone. (possibly two).

hmmm. its a tricky one. that toblerone (possibly two) could be the difference between us going into administration or not. and the magic beans could help us build a new hotel in the sky, that attracts everybody from martians to the lizard people from "V" and maybe even god if he fancies a city getaway.

Yes. it would be nice.
Rest assured though if hes worth anything then he will be sold.
We cant hold back a player with ambition & woe betide those pesky agents.

Not wanting to pump up the hype but it does seem like a good opportunity to allow him to play without the added pressures that go with our slump in form and desperation to return to winning ways. Starting with Kitson who will offer him some muscle and act as an on pitch coach is vital.

Im not going to start throwing toys around though if he doesnt play.

If we get two Toblerones, you just know they will be attached to Neill Collins' boots so he can return to the kind of form he showed in the relegation season. That's if he hasn't gone to Ipswich by then.

Not a happy time to be a Blade right now; even super-optimistic me is beginning to wonder at the futility of it all, but fear not, I'm not about to spend my Saturday afternoons shopping just yet.
