We want a palace player on loan, but are also trying to get a player ahead of Palace too.
Palace don’t want Cooper to play, they’re bulking out their squad and see the chance to buy a highly rated English keeper for not much money.

That way after 12 months they can sell him for a tidy profit.

So by offering him game time and the chance of going up we are putting a spanner in their plan and losing them money. So perhaps could be playing hard ball with us over their player.
