Unbeaten in 14 games since Eddie Howe went back, won 10, drawn 4, for 31, against 12, points per game 2.43.

But all you've done there is quote a run of form. All teams go on runs of good form. What on Earth makes you think this is anything other than the feelgood factor of the return of Howe? Despite all their firepoer, they were garbage for the first 10 - 12 games of the season.

They won't sustain it. Bournemouth will not go up automatically or via the play-offs. I just can't see it.

Didn't you say that about W*dnesday last year?

The key to them is how they react after a defeat. Fortunately for the pigs they never had one in the run in until this season when the achieved the Magnificent 7.

Tranmere, Doncaster, Brentford, Bournemouth, Swindon, Milton Keynes and even Yeovil are playing better than us at the moment. Put Coventry into that aswell and we need to buck our ideas up. If those teams win their games in hand we will be 7th. That is totally unacceptable considering we probably have the biggest budget in the division.

Olle and I had a chat about this at full time on Saturday. I can't remember my exact prediction (damn that beer...!) but it was based on these thoughts:

6 MK Dons
A side I expected a consistent push for automatic promotion from if I'm honest; the Dons haven't lived up to expectations. The return of Izale McLeod will provide them with goals but their form against the teams at the wrong end of the table will prove costly: they lost 4-1 at Bury, 3-0 at Scunthorpe and 4-2 at home against Walsall. Key man: Dean Lewington. Captain and talisman, the left back is one of the only remaining link to the old Wimbledon.
Bit wrong we won 4-1 at bury and won 3-0 at Scunthorpe we did lose to Walsall but I think we will fall short, play offs at best.

I don't think so? But even if I did, that's hardly the same. The pigs didn't sustain a run that began in October, right through to the end of the season.
it has been done before though.. not very often, granted but it does happen. i think bournemouth will be there and i reckon brentford will be close. we are in meltdown and i think we'll finish seventh.. i've seen us do this before
feel free to quote me in april if i'm wrong :)

All this has just made me think of Alan Irvine at the pigs a few years ago when Mandy turned up. I think they were top 2 or 3 then in January they imploded and were holding onto the division until the last few weeks.

That pesky Tranmere are taking an awfully long time to fulfill the predictions aren't they?

I didn't say that Bournemouth would remain unbeaten, I asked if you were amongst the many who last season derided the suggestion that Wednesday would go up. Their form suggested for most of the run in that they would and we would fail, but then of couse it was effectively decided in a different country!
