Personally I wouldn't have signed either.

However if it's my judgement against a guy who has proved conclusively that he knows how to get out of this league then I'm going with Adkins all the way!!

This is a leap of faith we've all got to take in my view. If NA doesn't get us on the move I can't see who else will.

Not feeling this signing, but as with all Blades players he will have my full support when he plays. Never been a fan of his but time will tell. Hopefully he can be more Neil Shipperley than Higdon.

Saw him play for wigan in the prem and thought he looked a really good player but not much of a goal threat

Derby supporters tend to agree that he's an athlete, runs his bollocks off, is strong and causes problems.

But, they also say he has no finishing ability and some say he's not good enough for League 1.

Mind you, he does seem to be appreciated in the main. My feeling is that he's here to cause problems that allow Billy (and Murph, Done et al) to find space and put it in the back of the net. Looks like a classic big man/little man duo anyway.

My main concern about this signing is the potential for misspellings of his name. I've already seen Connor Sammon, Conner Sammon, Conor Salmond. The first of those by our co-chairman...

Good signing, IMO. Adds plenty more physical presence to the team. He will benefit us both offensively and defensively (set pieces).

I'll admit that his goal record doesn't appear all that impressive, but I'd imagine he'd be worth about 10 goals next season, give or take, which when you consider what else he will bring to the table doesn't seem too bad at all.

Could be our Aaron Wilbraham...

I hope he's got it right.

That is all I can say about these two signings, I know next to nothing about Salmon and I know that five years ago Sharp would have ripped this division a new one... But that was five years ago.

This squad to me looks guaranteed top 6 already... Guaranteed top two?.... Don't know about that.. It's wait and see.

Connor Sammon , Jesus fucking Christ , a big fooker and nowt else .
Let's hope he creates space for our other forwards , cause if he is our main forward , it's another season in Div 3 .
Boy do I hope I'm proved wrong .

Good signing for this level, pacey, and a real handful for defenders, great foil for Sharp.

One thing I would say re: Sammon is that it's a bit odd we've been able to merely get him on a season loan. He's got a year left on his deal, so he's in effect being released, when surely they could have recouped a decent fee for him now. He must be on a high wage to have made Derby want rid in this way - one we will likely be picking up in full.

Matt Fish?? And he is a defender (albeit with Ebbsfleet)

I saw his debut game for Millers vs. Bournemouth last season and he looked like a quicker/more athletic Chris Porter.

I'm guessing 1 of Higdon, McNulty or Done are on the way out.

The reaction to this signing is very mixed but IMO he will bring some much needed steel and bollocks to our forward line something we were lacking last season , I know he's not the most gifted footballer on the planet nor does he score hat loads if goals but he has played at a higher level than we find ourselves and will be a perfect foil for Sharp, Sparky and Done , and with higdon looking trimmer and fitter the forward line is looking more healthy but like I say it's just my opinion UTB

Underwhelemed are my intial thoughts about Sammon.

But in these cases I think back to Chief and what he gave us .................. still very much appreciated

Soooooo, Mr Sammon, is it Chief or Chef for you ?

Yes ...... I don't know who I was expecting or hoping for but it wasn't Connor Sammon !!
Imho we needed a big, strong, pacey, goal hungry striker to play with Done & McNuts ( and Sharpe apparently ) and Sammon is neither pacey nor goal hungry so I too am underwhelmed.
However, I shall support him as he wears the red & white stripes and just hope that in this agricultural division he can weigh in with the needed 15 - 20 goals per season but I'm not holding my breath.
Very disappointed I'm afraid but I desperately hope to be proven wrong ...... :(

Both Sharp and Sammon are good signings for a established league 1 side that wants to achieve promotion. If Wigan had signed them i am sure our mindset would be completely different .

What it does tell me is that Adkins does not think that the forwards on the books already , are good enough to score / create , enough chances / goals , to get us out of this league , whatever permutation you use.

It is credit to the board , that they are backing Adkins , and credit to Adkins that he is not panic buying , but putting some thought process into the players he his recruiting.

Really good signing, had no one other than Higdon last season to unsettle defences, be a great foil, nuisance etc. and a great substitute to throw on in the last 20 when chasing a game.
