Not good enough, hasn't developed sufficiently since 2014.
Can anyone clarify whether any of the youngsters going out 'until the end of the season' or 'on a temporary basis' are getting loan moves in which they'll return, or whether they're being shipped out for good?
Dimaio has apparently been suffering from 'off the field problems' (Keith Gillespie style) this last year or so, which might be the reason that he has not been around the first team.
I've always found this 'give them a chance' thing a bit 'school sports day'.Absolutely. Forget the "not given a chance" bollocks. They are all given plenty of chance to excel in the u18 and u21s. It's then up to them. It's football not the fucking X Factor.
It's what happens to a lot when they think they've made it because they've got a contract. They don't get that it's only the start. We should start looking at how many of our players don't have 'problems' as an increasing number seen to
Did he not take the two chances he was given against Rotherham and tranmere when he got mom both gamesI've always found this 'give them a chance' thing a bit 'school sports day'.
You have to earn your chance and then when you get it, take it and show you're better than the player you're replacing. That's how it's always worked. You'll do well to find a more competitive environment than professional sport.
If the kids want to know how tough you need to be, ask George; he's been called everything under the sun, booed by his own supporters, all over the country on loan, just to get to be first choice in a L1 side.
He did well to be fair against Rotherham. Didn't see Tranmere. He's perhaps a bit unlucky that we had a lot of CMs during Clough's tenure which made it hard to break through but it's not just on the pitch where you have to impress, it's off it and I know nothing about how hard he trained etc.Did he not take the two chances he was given against Rotherham and tranmere when he got mom both games
I liked the bits i've seen of him and can't for the life of me understand why he couldn't get in over the shite we've got playing in midfield at the moment, he was cheap to play and has some very good all round midfield attributes and that is something that can't be said about any of our midfielders currently. He can tackle, pass, get up and down the pitch if needs be and also has a decent shot on him, can anyone name any of our midfielders that can do all of these?Dimaio seems to have walked straight into Chesterfield's team. They've improved lately.

Saw a Chesterfield fan posting this:
"Sheff Weds interested in signing him at end of season. Well known to them for obvious reasons and they would have tried to sign him for their 1st team & U21 Dev squad if he had been released to the open market. We just took over his contract until the summer due to his link with Chris Morgan. Information given to me by a coach within Wednesday Academy.(...)
To my knowledge, Dimaio was not going to be released in January, but was told he could leave if he could find a club as they are trying to trim their budget.
Because of his links with Sheff Utd, Chris Morgan was told about Dimaio's situation, and because of his relationship, and training Dimaio for 2 years, knew how good he was and asked for him to come in on a trial.
Dimaio did trial, impressed Danny Wilson, and they approached Sheff Utd to come to an agreement to release Connor to them where we take over the remaining 6 months of his contract.
Sheff Utd waved compensation for Dimaio to us and only us partly because of the relationship they have with Chris Morgan.
The compensation they could have asked for would have been substantial as Dimaio has been at their academy since he was around 8 or 9.
If Sheff Weds would have made moves to sign him, they would have wanted the compensation."
I saw him v Preston last season, and for the first time in my life I could say, with honesty, "I could do better than that". Shite.

True. However the basic lack of footballing ability, coupled with lack of workrate, was astounding. That was at right back and the player in front left him exposed time and time again.

I'll give it 2 years before he's unheard of, like most of the youngsters that people get unaturally starry eyed about.
Good luck to the lad, hope I'm wrong.

I take it you never saw Nyron Nosworthy then?I saw him v Preston last season, and for the first time in my life I could say, with honesty, "I could do better than that". Shite.

I never got to think anything about him, other than "why is my chin still on the floor?"I take it you never saw Nyron Nosworthy then?

we do have a slight favourability to our clubSo this sounds another bit of good business sense by the powers that be here. Suppose the pigs (or anyone else for that matter) sign him this summer. I assume if he's in contract with "Tarn" they get a fee and if not he goes for free and we've waived compensation as he's no longer on our books?! The mind boggles! There is always the slimmest of chances that we've structured a deal favourably for the club but that is highly unlikely.

The sooner we start acting like a proper football club the better (if true of course.) He's our player and would have been on a small wage. If he is wanted by another team then make them pay the going rate, not handing out favours to old mates.

we arent paying his wages now, but thats the only up
I think you will be. We'll have to wait and see.
I maintain what I said at the time, from what I saw of him for us I didn't think he was good enough. He had that big chance in the Rotherham game along with Khan & Reed, and he played well in that game. Out of that trio, only Reed kicked on though.
This bit concerns me though:
