This sort of move is really positive and nice to see we’re still actively recruiting for the academy after Lester has taken on other duties.

Key point though is this is the lowest foundation of a successful recruitment policy in addition to this you need to have success bringing in young free agents released from top academies in their late teens early 20’s and then on top of that you need to also supplement that with signing senior players for fees. If you can have a decent hit rate doing all three you’ll have built a strong squad in no time.

Sorry, but frankly a ludicrous comparison / take.

Comparing 17 year old academy signings to £20m+ on Brewster etc is not remotely the same, or comparable in anyway.

This lad is an Academy signing, pure and simple. Nothing to do with the first team.

Perhaps making him feel welcome would be a good start. Professional football for a 17-year-old lad living away from home can be a tough environment.

I assume he’s been released by Birmingham at the end of his scholarship and we’ve offered him a two year contract?
I don’t think we’ve actually poached him from them or paid any kind of fee, so a run in the first team may be a tad premature
