Well done tonight, the better team one on the night and pleased we gave it a go and weren't tonked. Disappointed with your few chavs, but it didnt detract from a great evening. Think the mutual appreciation won through in the end.

Good luck at wembley and cheers for contributing to our best football season ever.

Onwards we march

COYB!

Cheers Danty
Very tough opposition
Manager and players did your lot proud
Not sure about your official tweeter?
Good luck next season

Thanks Danty.
Wishing you the very best for next season. You still have 7 of your conference promotion team in your current squad. Fantastic. Get yourselves an attacking format with decent strikers and you may go up next season.

Cheers Danty your team and fans did you proud. The fact that your fans clapped our players showed true class. I can think of several teams fans that wouldnt have done. Good luck for the future (except when you play us of course)

Congrats on being very stubborn opposition and pushing us very hard. What a season for you guys. Who would have thought that when you were non league a few years ago that in a couple of years time you'd be convingly beating the top 3 at home in the 3rd division. You were very difficult to beat under Westley and are the same under Smith. Stevenage have maintained that physically fit, strong and rock solid aspect, yet can play attacking and expansive football.

Last night I thought the Blades were the better team and deserved the result. Absolutely no shame on Stevenage though. You were beaten by a team with a much, much higher wage bill, big crowd and that finished much higher in the league. Credit for Stevenage for running United close, but I think that the quality amongst the SUFC ranks just edged it. Wilson got his tactics spot on and when it counted key players stepped up. As Steveange started to tire, Lowton bombing forward from RB caused loads of problems and he was the key for me. Cracking ball for the goal.

All the best Danty. Stay patient and back Smith and hopefully you can achieve the play offs again. Kepp hold of your full backs (unless we sign em!? ;) ) and build with what you have got. Hopefully we won't have to see you next season!

Cheers fella.

Sorry a few of our idiots had to run towards you lot at the end. You deserved better than that.

Good luck for next season. Actually, no I take that back as we'll be down there with you and need as little strong opposition as possible!

I think the fact that Wilson should be looking at 3 or 4 of your players for next season, (especially the no 15) speaks volumes. Cracking side who pushed us all the way, credit where it's due.

Having said that with the chances we created last night I think we would have been out of sight with Cresswell and Porter as a front two.

Fair play Danty. Its a remarkable achievement for your boys, the team and supporters have done your club proud.

You're a very resolute and organised team and you have some decent footballers across the middle of the park as well. Very good value for a top 6 finish and maybe you can do even better next year.

Is it me? Despite numerous announcements - Mindless Cretins running onto the pitch!!!
Not just kids but adults !! or should I say Idiots
For me - View Video evidence and ban them from Wembley!
Sometimes the so called fans are an embarrassment!!!

I don't mind fans running onto the pitch too much if the occasion is worthy, but when they do it to run to the opposition fans they want shooting.

Even within the limitations of their tiny minds, I cannot see why goading Stevenage fans is something they want to do? Shameful.

Why is it when other teams have pitch invasions it's scenes of joy revelled in by commentators and TV camera crews and everyone just goes with it as a spontaneous outpouring of emotion. Even plastic Reading did it.

When we have one we have to have to take it all so seriously with constant announcements and then the predictable booing and 20 minute wait for the team to come back out by which time half the crowd have gone home.

Much better to just let them come on in games like this and then let the team come out in the South Stand directors area for the applause the way it used to be.

If we'd gone up, it would be fine. But considering our playoff final record, it's rather silly.

Plus, we do have another game to play and the supporters jumping on the back of Porter was more than a little idiotic.

Aside the pitch invasion knobheads, it was a proper love-in! We applauded Stevenage off the pitch, Stevenage fans applauded our lads (which I really wasn't expecting!) and then we applauded their fans for applauding our players! Lovely stuff.

Considering our play off record it may be all we get to celebrate!

It seems yet another way that the natural passion our fans have for our club has been stiffled over the last decade or so.

Of course it's daft to injure a player (though this seems very unlikely - will stand corrected but not known a United player injured in this way so can't play?) but my point is once the fans are on can't we for once relax, enjoy it and have some spontaneity instead of more orchestrated crap.

The players can be safe and sound in the South Stand away from all those fans trying to injure them where they can take the applause and clap the fans in the same way they do on the lap of honour.

No players were injured to the best of my knowledge, but the risk was there.

And while I agree it may be the only thing we have to celebrate, it's not much to celebrate is it?

Was a bit like the Sunderland away playoff. Through the entire event the SoL and outside was very hostile. Yet as our coaches winded their way round the stadium setting off home, all we got from the celebrating Sun'lan fans was claps and respect.

Wolves after the playoff final were similar as well.

Can't say the same of the hundreds of rod-giving Burnley scrotes who gave our coach almighty stick as we waited in the car park at Wembley. So much so that a group of lads on the coach I was on rushed off it at one point to 'have a word'.

I think we all agree it was a tiny minority and should never take away your acheivement in what was (I felt) a titanic battle (even if it was attack v defence) for the most.

I got a real sence of pride applauding your players, as I knew they felt they had been in a game, and you all reciprocated when our skipper turned to applaud your 3 stands. Your 'baby BBC' just looked embarracing (and nearly pulled the cross bar down). Every blade I met from the pub, to the Stewards and fans around the ground were fine ambassadors of SUFC.

p.s. recorded Annies Song on my camera - truly impressive!

All of which reminds me - the competition in OTT celebrations each time the ref gave a decision were getting quite funny second half.

We should have gone for a Poznan but couldn't get it going. :)

Thanks.

I don't suppose you hold out much hope for your lot? Pity, because I think most United fans would rather play MKD than Huddersfield.....
Hey, man city got 2 in injury time we have a whole ninety mins to do it, but no I don't hold out much hope but footballs a funny old game.

Ban fans for running on the pitch to celebrate, most of whom were kids? Bonkers. We need to lighten up. The only embarrassing thing about it was Sinclair ranting & raving about not hurting the players. From what I could see, fans & players both enjoyed it - the odds of a player getting injured by it are virtually zero. As far as I'm concerned, it was great to have something worth running on the pitch for.

As for some of our fans running towards their end - again, so what? It was harmless banter. Their fans spent much of the game slagging us & bigging up the pigs so I'm not sure why people suddenly feel the need for a post-match love in. Rivalry & banter are part of the game - & the atmosphere would be rubbish without it. Nothing got out of hand so I can't see the problem.

The selfish minority who ran onto the pitch, despite clear and repeated requests, may well have enjoyed it. The majority, who wanted to show their appreciation in a way we could ALL enjoy, were less then pleased.

Many of us wanted to applaud Danny Wilson as he walked across in front of the Kop. That would have been memorable and appropriate. Instead a couple of dozen brain cells decided it was much more important to jump on him. Thank you.

Stevenage are a good, well run club (apart from the club tweeter, twatter more like). My nephew is currently in their U18s and I only hear good things about them.
