Go easy on the delusioneers you know how sensitive they are to fans of tinpot clubs like yours and ours taking the piss out of the massive

Thank you judge, and may I add that the banter and mutual respect of all our forums towards eachother has been a breath of spring air. Off to owlstalk now to take the piss :p

So why do all other clubs fans hate them so much?

For us its easy and the done thing?

Stannyblade...I try to imagine United supporters taking on Wendies supporters on University challenge. Now close your eyes and imagine the Wendies team are the four guy from "The young ones" Does it for me.

Just out of interest, how many 1-0 wins have Charlton had this season. Every time I look in the hope of United closing the gap, I seem to find they've won 1-0, usually away.

charlton did what was needed not pretty but got basics right like defending. I see most of there games ended with the opposition having nil goals including us twice.

Other clubs' fans' view of the two Sheffield clubs are always interesting. My perception prior to this season has always been that Wednesday are better liked than we are. This season it seems to have turned around dramatically. My own theory is that style of play has a lot to do with it. Teams don't like being bullied out of games by a physical, direct team - but they don't mind so much being out-played by a pretty passing team.

Incidentally, in the past United fans have always reacted to other teams' dislike of us with a 'sod them' attitude (or something a bit stronger) and even a 'no-one likes us, we don't care' kind of pride. Our sudden delight at a rapidly developing dislike of Wednesday amuses me therefore - I shouldn't think they're feeling terribly hurt about it.

I think it's more that we like that their fans seem more disliked than ours, rather than the team. I definitely have a "sod them" attitude to those who have dismissed past Blades teams as thugs but I always like reading nice things about our away following, or visiting fans enjoying coming to the Lane.

I get the impression that the pigs are more liked amongst the bigger prem clubs and the media as they consider them to be an honourable sleeping giant or some such nonsense, whereas we are more favourably looked upon by the smaller teams as they prefer the lack of 'billy big time' attitude which many of our neighbours seem to have.

I really like the following post from Porktalk.

"when we go up we'll have the momentum next season for once. United still need to manage their debt which is a big issue. I think we'll be on par with the brightons/readings with some quality player restructuring"

Special minds that need to be treasured.

PeterNdlovu is right - Charlton have won 8 game 1-0. By contrast, we've won 5 games 1-0.

Interestingly, neither side has had a 0-0 draw all season.

Not sure what the pattern is though - in League 2, Torquay have won 12 games 1-0 and Aldershot 9.

I am not sure I was mis hearing but I am sure a Porker on Praise or Grumble was suggesting that Adam Le Fondre wouild have been prepared to crawl over broken glass to sign for the Pigs instead of going to Reading! Priceless.

Yes, it was a corker. He also said that if Alfie had joined them then the pigs would already be celebrating promotion. Deluded and simple.

You heard it right. First call after I got back to the car and he nearly had me smacking into the bloke in front as I laughed out loud. He also suggested that had LeFondre been signed they would be sat in their deckchairs now having pissed the league.

Edit: Wasted post as Kenilworth beat me to it!

We must have got back in our cars at the very same time, long may they keep us amused.
