I desperately want us to win on Saturday. It will be a fantastic feeling to actually see us win for you once at Wembley. More so as I've seen us lose too often in matches like this.
I'll be devastated if we lose.
Should we win, I'll be elated. For a while.
Then reality will sink in. The enormity of the task ahead is daunting. And I'll approach next season with trepidation.
It's going to be a long hard slog.
Decisions will go against us that would never go against established sides. VAR will be a nightmare. Quite likely the results against us will be painful to watch. Not something that is going to be enjoyable at all.I
Still , I so hope we win.

Can I quite you on that should we go up and it happens?

Let's discuss it if it happens, no need to prepare excuses for fantasy decisions that haven't happened yet.

We just need to go out on the day, play better than Sunderland and get the job done.

It's as simple as that.

I want us to win, I want us to win every game we play, but I’m not that arsed about playing in the prem next season. I’m more bothered about the fact we’ll lose the players I like if we don’t go up rather than the fact we won’t be playing in the prem. That and losing at Wembley isn’t much fun.

Stuff like the Lundstram offside at Tottenham, and also the 15mins added on at the end of the game against them (would they have added 15mins on if we were losing 1-0? probably not)

They stand out. The Aston Villa "no goal" when goal line tech was off...

You can't say they haven't already happened previously.

Of course we've had things go against us.

Name a team that hasn't.

I understand the apprehension that playing in the Premier League brings with the uneven bias towards the big 6 and the apparent lack of financial restrictions against the likes of Chelsea/Man City as opposed to immediate sanctions against the Evertons and Forests for trying to spend their way to safety.
We dont know what will happen next season IF we go up.
The new board may look to invest heavily to attract players that will help us finish in the top 17 (that has to be the initial target for anyone that gets promoted) and provide a base for future progression.
We do know what will happen if we dont go up.
Teams from the premier league (and similar "big" leagues) will look to take Hamer, Vini Souza, Cooper, Burrows and the promising young players like Peck and Arblaster (to aid their "homegrown" quota).

Lets just enjoy the moment and hope that we turn up at Wembley and put on a performance that we know we are capable of. The rest will sort itself out.

This is my opinion too. If we could stay in the champ, retain everyone and go again I wouldn't be too bothered.

What I do think though, is yeah we might lose the players we like, but there will be other players we like in the future. I loved illiman, he's one of my favorite ever players, but I also love gus, campbell and sydie and illiman is a bit of a distant memory now.

Another championship season doesn't bother me

Players leaving doesn't bother me - any of them, for the right price

The collective psychological damage of losing another play off final would bother me though - we'd have a defeatist attitude forever more if we don't already

I want to win just for the sake of winning. It's a bigger reward than promotion itself for me. I'm looking at it more like a cup final
