[CONFIRMED] Surely not? Sky report Wolves in for McDonald

He's basically saying that his team mates are shit and he doesn't respect them.
Such toss will never get promoted. That's why he went to Wolves (and the extra dink)

He'd be surprised if SUFC wouldn't be in the mix at the end of the season for promotion.
Liar. He expects us to flounder without him as he knows Weir made all his Pre season revolve around him as the creative linchpin.

He knew of the interest and the intent at the beginning of the summer. His agent let Wolves know the amount in the release clause.
He full well knew this would screw Weir but went along with it anyway.

They all look out for number 1. Not one of the pampered, feckless wasters deserve our support.
All footballers are complete cunts.
We just happen to have an array of useless shit cunts.

#UTB fans - Fuck the players.

Ahh well, Its another match day to do something else on. Oh wait a minute its a cheap match day tomorrow isn't it? Might just about be worth going. Do I still get my £2 discount? By the end of the season I might have just donated more to this forum than the club and that wont be much.

An ex ear in the camp tells the story that it was widely accepted that McDonald was off. I would be surprised if we hadn't already planned for this.

Let's all ask ourselves was this guy even worth having at our football club? A smug, narcissistic liar who to be honest looked utter shite on the pitch most of the time, when there wasn't a 30 goal-a-season striker in front of him. Which is probably why he will blossom at Wolves I would have thought (Leigh Griffiths).

We'll all have an idea tomorrow about whether he is an integral part of the team. If we win whilst putting up a decent performance then I'm sure most will be forgotten. I never thought we'd have enough for promotion anyway.

*Waves.
fuck off you wanker.
couldnt even be arsed to turn up the whole of last season.
Gets told he will be the linchpin in this years team & then fucks off after knowing & probably telling Wolves what his contract details were.

I hope the team uses his sale as a fuck you, were going to show you alright moment. But im afraid their lack of ability will prevent that.

Let's not kid ourselves we're not weaker without him though.

If it's not about money let's see him donate the difference between his Blades salary and his Wolves salary to charity. Maybe he could donate it to Sporting Chance so other young players who get thrown on the scrap heap with a drinking problem don't have to wait for a promotion unhopefuls to take a punt on them and rescue them from obscurity.

"The Star understands that United banked £250,000 when Wolverhampton Wanderers triggered a release clause in Kevin McDonald’s contract earlier this month":-

Strange how the same pattern has repeated itself with Lowton, Quinn and now McDonald.
A decent fee reported initially so that the transfer seems more palatable.
Then once the dust settles, a much lower fee is revealed to reduce expectations of how much we might actually spend.

With this value of players consistently downgrading we'll eventually we'll have a team of freebies and wonder why we can't win a game, nevermind a league!

£250k apparently -

All irrelevant if it's not going to replace him anyway.

As it's standard practice for players to have these clauses at this level (apparently!), can't we find someone who has it set to a minus figure, is a ball playing midfielder and can play "the fulcrum" role? Piece of piss I'd have thought.

I thought the clause was £750k to talk to him, why at that point didn't we say we value him at £1m, bid that and you can have him, same as some of the 'top 6' clubs do, yes the player may be unhappy but he belongs to us, you hold out, then get more money, exactly the same as Spurs are doing with Bale.

We just crumble and get shut for the price of a decent semi detached house by the sounds of it!

If I had the choice, I'd take the house.

I'm guessing that the clause was fairly unequivocal - pay the required amount and if you can agree contract terms, McDonald's yours. The Suárez clause is different in that only required Liverpool to inform him of any interest; it wasn't a buy-out.

The Wolverhampton press source appears to be the same mysterious source quoted by the Star. The bottom line is that we will never actually know how much we got for McDonald and, as Julian Winter pointed out last night, if we hadn't put that clause in the contract offer, he wouldn't have signed.

Bale is a completely different scenario - he doesn't have a buy out. However, there's still a lesson in how Levy operates: he's not bothered if a player is unhappy, he gets the price he wants.

I believe the Express & Star was the place where the original figure of £750K came from.
So if they're now saying £250K, I think we can safely assume that it was only £250K.

It makes more sense really, as I've said before Wolves wouldn't have needed to bid more than £250K.
United say they "can't keep a player who wants to leave", so Wolves could have bid any paltry amount and still got him.

They are after another Midfielder today so competition for places, i see KMac got 2 minutes a a debut.

Who knows if its competition, looks like for £250,000 they have thrown a spanner in our works.

With their Parachute payments, they could do that to 6 more clubs without missing a beat

This presupposes there are six teams other than us who would let their best player go for such a sum.

I was thinking a similar thing the other day as it happens.

Also it shows how far our club have declined when the worth of probably our best outfield player is only £750 k tops.

We're pretty much there already. The whole squad on Sat cost a combined total of around 500K. Think we only paid fees for Taylor, Murphy and maybe Westlake.

Other clubs ramp up the asking price when others come chasing their best players.

This, unfortunately, is what we do...week on week, season after season.

We have constantly sold our best players & replaced them with inferior ones........

And so the slide continues.

Comes off bench and Billy Clarke equalisers. Kmac then send in cross which hits Mcfadzeans arm to win penalty and match. Some right blades links in last few minutes. Still pisses me off we lost out on Clarke to Crawley ffs.

Crawley are a bigger team these days.
How much did they spend for Clarke? 750k was it?

So....

All of you (you know who you are) that claimed McDonald only 'turned up now and then' and wasn't as good as people made out', have you now finally accepted that we were a 1 man team, and now he's gone. It's frustrating that he had to be sold for some fans to realise this
