Wonder what the kind of reception he'll face from the fans when Wolves turn up at the Lane. Can't imagine it'll be good, I for one will.... just go with the majority of the crowd I guess

No doubt he will take the piss and set up a couple of goals for their forwards on the 28th September at Molineux then be injured and out of the team by the time he is due back to the Lane in March next year.

He won't care what type of reception he gets, not a monkey's
I am sure he has nothing but contempt for us as a club (based on the M5 services comments) and cares little what the fans think. The only reason it's probably taken this long is the begging that has been done to try to keep him seeing as all the work pre season was building the whole team philosophy around him as the playmaker. Without that we are screwed up the chuff. There will be no replacement this season - we will try to fill in from within - Coady is the man they will persevere with. Ineffective at Brentford but they will see that challenge as too big a game this early on and will look to him to grow into this role against the lesser teams. The fact that we are one of the lesser teams will not have been computed yet.

He wants away nobody bent his arm behind his back to go and have a medical.
Let's hope the club haven't been standing still through this drawn out wolves saga and have been moving for a replacement.

:D

Ha ha, good one pal.

Oh, you were being serious.

To be brutally honest I'm glad to see the back of him now, his history with the Blades quite frankly proves he has no respect for the club or the fans. He almost signed for our neighbors just over a year ago and now he's off to a League 1 rival. If he's that desperate to go then I can happily say good riddance to the twat.

By the way it's all over Twitter he's signed a 3-year deal at Molineux on £12,000 a week.

Part of me can't blame him for not turning down £12.5k a week, that's a lot of money by any standards, never =mind league one ffs, however doesn't that just sum up everything that's wrong with the game, even in this pi$$ poor division.

Big turning point of our season after week two, after all the planning the key part does one, not very honourable in my opinion, sure him and his agent knew about this weeks ago.

Bad by KM, shocking by wolves, what did we actually offer him to stay, SUFC should come out and tell us, at least we'll know how far behind other clubs we really are

I cannot understand the gnashing of teeth and wailing over a third division footballer. This is not the transfer of Brian Deane (twice), James Beattie or Kyle I and II. Lerrim get on wi it, not many on this board would not move from a club they had no emotional attachment to, to another one in the same division for what could be a trebling of their salary.

Rumour has it we offered an increase in his basic to £3k a week, a bag of chips every other Sunday and a "Please, go on, stay for us, please. Pretty please - I'll be your best friend"

I heard he sneered and said nothing - Silent, strong, elusive, aloof - just to prove he has class, like

"We offered him a new, which in my opinion is a very good offer, I have spoken to him personally, as have the club. We made a big effort to keep Kevin, but he has chosen to move on and that is his decision."

McDonald, 24, made 91 appearances for the Blades, scoring a total of five goals, after signing as a free agent in the summer. He scored the first goal of United's campaign, again Notts County, but last season only managed one goal and one assist.

That all? 5 goals in 91 games and only one assist last year? :/

Wow, I knew you and Linz were movers and shakers at the club but not to THAT extent...

"The midfielder was granted permission to speak to the Black Country club after they bid an undisclosed fee to trigger a clause in his contract."

Indeed. Only undisclosed fees could trigger the clause - disclosed fees are strictly prohibited in today's game, and would have resulted in failure.

undisclosed, a bloody joke club we are at times. how the fuck can it be undisclosed.

Must be like fucking deal or no fucking deal. The figure was undisclosed and amazingly Wolves got the right amount!

It's not like it's common throughout football or anything is it? they keep them undisclosed for a reason and it's a decision made between the clubs.

I've seen it also suggested that the club tell us what they offered him to stay - Do people actually think before they whinge?

I thought he didn't contribute much last season but damn only 1 assist? I think Porter must have set up more.

To be honest, i think he will struggle to stay in the Wolves team. He's one of those players who looks good but produces very little most of the time. The trouble is, not only was he our best midfielder (hardly saying much), but we will probably replace him with a work experience vending machine operator from Darnall.

I am not complaining about the sale or out effort to keep him, I am complaining that the fee is undisclosed. And yes I do think thanks very much Foxy, although I am sure I can't keep up with the brains of this organisation.

Go on then, pray tell what would be the advantage to Sheffield United to publish the details of the transaction and details of what they offered him to stay?

The advantage at this stage is to prove to many fans that we haven't had our pants pulled down over a transfer to what we once considered a promotion rival. SOme fans are going to be apaleptic about this and some fans, myself included would like to know it's a substantial fee and that it is worthy of reinvesting into the team. You can tow the party line Foxy all you like, however if we bring in another Forte or O'Halloran (or however you spell the chuff).

If you you consider this a whinge then you're not considering the feelings of a fan that has been going many years. I think the fee being undisclosed is just a way of not spending the money, but hey is that ok now I have had time to think about it?

While I don't think we should say what we offered in wages, I'd be extremely interested to hear if we offered him a deal that kept this clause that has led to the deal happening in the first place. It would be a good indication whether we've learnt from the previous desperation when offering the original deal.

And you could even see that from your fucking armchair!

I suggest, in the nicest possible way, that you tone it down a bit.

I know you're upset, but getting the mardies on with forum posters will achieve little.

That post was nothing to do with McDonald, just a dig at someone who chucks knives from home

So you think the best way of not having our pants pulled down in future is to publish exactly what we got and what we'd have paid him to stay? I'd suggest that's the worst thing we could do.

The way I'll be happy, is for them to deal with the loss and move on with a coherent plan. I couldn't really care less what the release clause was and how much we'd have paid him, I'm more interested on how we are going to replace him/move forward.

I'm not even sure what the party line is to tow? If we bring in another Forte or O'Halloran I'll be incredibly pissed off. On a scale of 1 to Deane and Fjortoft, I'm currently closer to 1 - I'd have much rather we kept him, but I'm not sure how much more we could have done to achieve that.

If you you consider this a whinge then you're not considering the feelings of a fan that has been going many years. I think the fee being undisclosed is just a way of not spending the money, but hey is that ok now I have had time to think about it?

I perhaps should have worded my original point more carefully, as I wasn't intending to have a pop at you - please don't take it that way.

I just completely fail to see the logic in demanding the figures, it's counter productive and would do nothing but weaken our position at this stage.

If you're saying what I think you're saying?... the widely held assumption is that the release clause was inserted in the extended contract KMc signed at his/his agent's request and I would imagine would be a fairly common one for players negotiating contracts at this level.

Well might I suggest that you cease with the digs, whoever they are aimed at. They come across as slightly hysterical.
