yep concur entirely.. it was KMacs hamstring that cost us.. everyone in the ground knew it as well.
say what you like but noone at this level can control the ball AT ALL never mind with either foot.. as you may realise i'm totally in the KMac fan club and will be fucking furious when he leaves

Yep with you there SP -looks like today's the day according to the hype in the Black Country!
I am a tad pissed that we don't have a suitable replacement in the squad tbh. Especially considering how injury prone he could be AND everyone (except us) knew about this freakin clause in his contract.
FFS......

A lot have moaned of the price we sell our players for. slew £1m. lowton £3m etc.

Just to put the McD sale into perspective.

Nathan Redmond left Birmingham for an initial £2m rising to £3.2m. Now he is unbelievably good.

So?

In what way does this make the continuation of our death by a thousand cuts better?

It's a way of proving that it's not all as bad as it sounds. It's not McCabe taking a quick buck. It's the way of the world.

When Birmingham wiped the floor with us two season's ago in the FA Cup 0-4. Redmond scored the first and was immense. You could see he would play for England one day. He was sold to Norwich for £2m with add-ons. If we're getting £750k for McDonald then I think we've done well.

Kevin McDonald isn't fit enough to lace Redmond's boots. Birmingham should be pig sick with that sale. But for me, it puts it into perspective. If they only get ~£3m for a definate future England international and we're getting £750k for somebody who's not even good enough for Scotland (no disrespect) then I don't think we've be sold short.

Obviously i'd rather McDonald stay but, the price is fine.

Speaking as an Orne...Orni...Speaking as a bird lover, I don't approve of all this stoning of birds....This isn't Bradford you know.

It's a bit wierd having a poll dancing squirrel as your avar Flakey - what's that all about?
You nuts or summat?

Hmmn - we shall see tonight about the respect issue, I guess, with the match vs the Sweaty's at the theatre of Blades Anonymity.

England's youf were far too good for the Jockanese Juniors at BDTBL last night and I suspect that our prima donna puftas will be far too strong for the Irn Bru'ers this evening.

Agree KMac was no where near good enough for a Jocks XXII, nor are our other Tartan Teamsters, Murphy, Collins, or Flynn - but they are considered some of the most gifted/effective players we have available (yes I appreciate Flynn is often cast as the goat tethered to the stake) at this club at the moment. Just shows how far away we are from any level of decent football if these are the best we have to offer and they cannot nibble the fringes of a third world national team (third world in footballing terms not the country itself).

It really isn't. We will become weaker and a promotion rival stronger, no price is worth that. Liverpool would love that £40M, but they know it'll be season suicide if they sell their best player to their biggest rival for 4th spot.

We are effectively selling any hope of promotion for 750K (probably less).

Agree IOMB - that's the rational conclusion from any sensible analysis of this scenario, if KMac is not replaced with anything equivalent or better...... and we all know that has a snow flakes chance in hell of happening.

Their local paper today says "done deal" - bad news but expected

McDonald’s £750,000 move from Sheffield United is expected to be announced today after the 24-year-old playmaker completed a stringent medical.
The former Burnley midfielder has agreed a three-year deal at Molineux after rejecting an improved offer to stay at Bramall Lane, where he was a cult figure with fans, and is expected to be available to make his debut at Bristol City on Saturday

Cult figure? Must have missed that.

Weir says he's still waiting on a decision from Kevin, which is a frustrating one.

He also says he expects a decision today.

I assume he's said yes to Wolves and is fannying about before giving us the official word. The jizzmop.

If he goes I am starting to get a bit pissed off with him. We need to find his replacement and we can't do that until he has gone. I am not sure how many points Wolves are going to take off us this year, but they already have 3! haha

Are we in danger here of over valuing his talents? Are we willing to pay McDonald extra and not having money to bring in some more players?

Wonder what the kind of reception he'll face from the fans when Wolves turn up at the Lane. Can't imagine it'll be good, I for one will.... just go with the majority of the crowd I guess

He wants away nobody bent his arm behind his back to go and have a medical.
Let's hope the club haven't been standing still through this drawn out wolves saga and have been moving for a replacement.

Can you really see us offering anywhere near the salary Wolves will have offered him? I can't! Just sounds a lot better than us saying "we made him a really crap offer, cos we're tighter than a budgies chuff"

Whether he stays or goes we probably won't sign anyone so rather than the money work it's way up the club I'd rather it be spent on McDonald's wages.

We already signed a replacement. Coady.

Just like last season when our replacement for Blackman was Kitson.
Our board are forward thinking like that.
