Carver joins Blades

The Blades can confirm the appointment of John Carver as Gary Speed's new first team coach.

The much respected coach joins United, after the club agreed a deal with Plymouth Argyle.

The 45-year-old worked under Sir Bobby Robson at Newcastle United during Speed's time as a player at St James' Park.

Carver has also worked with Sam Ellis at Leeds United and was head coach at MLS club Toronto FC.
