I hope so he seems like a decent player.

Certainly seems committed to playing in England at least.

Has he been training with us this summer does anyone know? Has DW even seen him play at all? I liked him as a player when I saw him last year, but if all this means is another body at the club to foster those international links, rather than it being a player DW genuinely intends to use, then what's the point?

He's better than Kozzy, or either of our centre halves so its a no brainer for me.

He's still recovering from the broken metatarsal he got with us last season as far as I'm aware. I would have thought that he'll be training with us when his fitness allows.

I think I read somewhere that DW was impressed with him after watching videos from last season.

Wouldn't mind seeing him at centre back. He always looked a bit out of place at full back due to not being too quick.

Didn't he keep Young out of the majority of the game against Aston Villa, his problems centred around having Yeates in front of him, whilst at full back. But having said that at Centre Half he looked quite capable as well, I never really understand dropping him in favour of Nosworthy or Colins.

He did. I saw him up at Shirecliffe with a pot on his leg towards the end of the season. Metatarsal I think it was.

His injury came whilst playing for the development squad, he featured for them a couple of times after to loosing his first team place as I understand.

i may have some info on Parrino Return as i was on twitter & tweeted a bloke (in spanish thru google translate) who works as a sports jornelist & radio bloke in de la plata

i going to translate the convosation for you he started with this
"Elian Parrino continue his career at Sheffield United in England on loan for one year"

then i replied "Is it true because I am a Sheffield United fan and Parrino played very well last season and would love him to continue"

then finally "it is true. According to reports from estudiantes, Parrino remain in Sheffield on loan for one year"

this isn't nailed 100% accuarte im just saying that its highly likely as there is alot of edviance to point that way. as he take english language course & has made many friends & an a sports journelist & radio bloke in de la plata says

I thought he got injured (everyone else did) rather than being dropped

Adams dropped him, his reason being that he was 'caught out of position a couple of times' or he was probably covering for Nosworthy. Another one of Adams bollocks

to be fair to Adams (only time i'll defend him), he was undoubtedly a good footballer, and certainly gifted with the ball at his feet, but i certainly thought he was not suited to playing right back in England. I would have liked to have seen him at centre half (especially in preference to Nos and Collins et al), or maybe sitting in midfield (as if we didn't have enough of those!) but i could also see the reasoning with him not playing that many games (especially in a struggling side). His defensive play was just not up to the standard required at times, and he was caught out so often at right back, and it was even worse that he had no pace to overcome this.

not confirmed on the OS though so doubtful he will feture tommorow.

He also had an issue with his metatarsal, which I'd imagine is the biggest issue in him being near the squad in the short term.

At first i thought the deal may be taking its time due to work permit issues etc. but then remembered that he's part Italian so he is EU eligible... Whats taking so long?!

I thought it'd been confirmed. Radio Sheffield said we'd signed him for six months yesterday.

They did I heard it too, but since then nothing. Sounds like they jumped the gun and it's not a done deal yet.

Anyone else see him sat with the players that weren't playing yesterday im sure it was him may be wrong

He was around this evening too.

Last year I picked up a commentary from a midlands BBC radio station - I think it was the Leicester game. They had a pundit doing the 'Keith Edwards' bit. he was an ex-footballer, I didn't get his name, but he seemed to know what he was talking about.

At one point in the commentary he said "I don't know who the number (xx) is for Sheffield United, but he's certainly not a right back." He went on to say that he was constantly being caught out of position.

Beighton - you may be right (for once!).
