Well if someone is being moronic it's a way of showing my follows the moronic tweet and giving them all a chance to challenge that view point. Also I often retweet Wednesday fans posting stupid things like we'll win by a few goals today after they've lost again.

I can see the logic of that but I'd be concerned people thought it was my view so I'd have to re-tweet with something to disassociate me from the original tweet. That's assuming you can add a comment to a re-tweet.

You can quote a tweet and add your own comments which with hindsight is probably a better idea. I think the more avid users of Twitter will realise you don't always agree with what you retweet but yeah you're probably right a newer user could very well hate me because of something they think I agree with when in fact I don't.
