Conceding goals at Corners and Freekicks

It has happened all season long Wolves started it,even lge 1 Bristol Rovers managed to do it,and Spurs carried the tradition on.

Not only does the midfield need a revamp but the defence does too,if it stays the same in the Championship we will concede goals there too every game.

I mean today you had Bogle doing an impression of that old bloke on the big dipper eating a cheese sandwich........."What sort of cheese was that" astonished look after Aurier scored,Bogle is not alone,the whole back line has been found out,it happens every game even in the Newcastle game,Wilson had two headed chances that on another day he would have scored from.

A flappy keeper leads to the defenders having kittens when the ball is in the box. It's not even just from set pieces, if the opposition put a ball in the box our defence shits itself. The number of poor clearances that have led to the opposition keeping their attacks alive this season is beyond a joke.

Declan Gallagher at Motherwell or someone similar would help. Absolutely massive and a beast in the air.
We have too many small players playing in the defence/midfield with lower than average heading ability. Osborn, Baldock, Lowe, Bogle, Ampadu, Bash, Stevens, Robinson, Jags, Norwood and Fleck are all easily beatable in the air as has been shown by the goals flying in. Most Premier teams are a lot bigger than us. We have been a soft touch this year and Wilder must address this before next year as it will still be exploited in the championship. That's why I am surprised he hasn't tried Verrips as he appears to be a fair bit taller than Rammers.

We have pygmies defending set pieces. We've been the same for years. I remember Yeovil away when their defenders' average height appeared to be 6'7" and we looked like an u11 team by comparison. Of course some basic skill and a commanding keeper wouild also help.

If you'd asked me last year, I would have said that one of the huge strengths of Wilder and Knill is their attention to detail for things like set pieces. Really strange how it's gone downhill so suddenly.

I'm definitely not an expert but, to me, it looks like our basic set up isn't too bad for corners and free kicks (i.e. the positions of the players looks reasonable) - there aren't any obvious big gaps or weaknesses. Possibly WBA away was an exception, where we left the man free on the edge of the box. The problem seems to be a simple lack of willingness to jump or compete. It seems that, if anyone feels an arm on them, they just stay on the group. It really comes to something when Spurs players seem to be 'wanting it' more than ours at BDTBL.

Set piece marking isn't something everybody will be good at. It's one of the things we must keep in mind when we make new signings. I agree it's a bit strange that we're struggling so much more than last season, with not too many changes in the team.

In general we struggle to address problems this season. We make the odd tweak, but still seem to be hoping that the team will somehow start playing like last season.

I have never seen a goalkeeper with a technique like Ramsdale. He continually has the look of somebody in a bomb scare , he is either flat footed or flapping hopelessly at crosses, and as far as shot stopping is concerned (or lack of it ) he is unique . He seems to just leap up into the air getting nowhere near the ball. I was quite pleased when we signed him , but the first elements of doubt crept in as early as the first game against Wolves, when 2 efforts most goalkeepers in this division would deal with easily beat him all ends up. How lucky we were to have been blessed with such a first class keeper for the last 2 seasons , even Blackman was better than this clown.

Fed up of people defending this clown. He was shite last season at Bournemouth and surprise, surprise he's shite we us too. Coincidence..? I wasn't sure when we did sign him and he's done nothing to suggest we got a good deal. I wouldn't be unhappy if we somehow got rid (we won't but we can wish).

It seemed to work really well last year, but I haven't noticed it at all this time. It could be (i) it's harder for me to spot on TV, (ii) we are just unlucky that it hasn't paid off, or (iii) opponents are actively putting it into areas away from our 'free man'.

It's a weakness that has to be sorted I'm sure it will.The main problem is aggression the players just dont get up with the opposition, competing for a ball makes it almost impossible to get a clean header in,we certainly competed last season. We are definitely short of height at set pieces compared to last season .

Obviously, you can argue that recruitment etc should have covered this, but we're currently missing JOC and McBurnie, who are probably in the top 3 (with Egan) for aerial threats in both boxes. McBurnie in particular seems to always be heading balls away from defensive set pieces.

We have Fleck, Osborn ,Norwood ,Bogle, Burke, Sharp and Baldock all small by professional football standards so it is hardly surprising that the opposition can score from deadballs
