Looking at the teams that finished above us in the league this season is an interesting exercise.
Over the last four seasons their respective finishes have been as follows:
2014-15 2013-14 2012-13 2011-12
Bristol City 1 12 Ch 24 Ch 20
MK Dons 2 10 8 5
Preston 3 5 14 15
Swindon 4 8 6 L2 1
SUFC 5 7 5 3
Far from progress (Clough's words) I'd say we were stuck in a rut. Preston have made steady progress, as have Swindon, Bristol City arrested the rot and MK perhaps had an 'exceptional season'.
Whilst Clough wasn't here in 11-12 and 12-13 seasons the club has gone backwards and is struggling to ,move forwards.
