What are the chances of signing these two permanently?? And, would they want to sign?????
UTB

More chance of Coady than Brayford.

Would someone in the league above take a punt on Coady? I think that's the key to that one.

Brayford on c£25k a week at Cardiff??? Can't see him wanting to stay as he'll get offers at Championship and may be higher, never mind paying silly money for him.

Want Nige wants, Nige gets.

I'm sure both parent clubs would be happy to come to an arrangement. With the greatest respect I can't see Coady walking into the current Liverpool side who are sat at the top of the Premier League, and Cardiff's owner doesn't like The Beard, hopefully he'll remember how Man City helped them fund Bellamy's extended stay there and do the same for us.

Keep the faith!

I think Liverpool will want Coady to go to a Championship team next season, clubs don't like their youngsters getting to comfortable at teams. Hopefully if Liverpool like our style when watching us in the FA Cup Semi it could change. Brayford will go back to Cardiff if they are relegated.

Would love to see them both come, they have fitted straight into Clough's style.

I think weve more chance with Coady than Brayford.

Possibly on another seasons loan.
Brayford will probably leave to a Championship side.

Chances are between slim and zero, we may get Coady back on another half season loan, but we can't afford Brayford.

Wish it weren't the case but Unfortunately it is.

I don't think Brayford will stay but from his performances so far, Freeman has the potential to be just as good but less bearded. I'd be happy if Freeman signed given that his value is likely to rise whereas Brayford's probably wouldn't.

I agree that it would be good to get Coady for another season but his contract at Liverpool is up in June 2015 and at 21, this is probably the last chance he's got to get into their squad. If he rejoins it'll be after the summer transfer window is closed and the Premiership squads finalised - if he's in Liverpool's, he'll stay there.

Brayford I think would seriously consider a move to us even with a large pay cut, for two reasons.
1 he likes clough knows him and seems to enjoy playing for him.
2 his chances of playing at Cardiff are likely to be low so probably will be looking for a new club, he knows the blades, seems to like it here and gets on well with players and fans, so why apart from money (which I don't think is his top priority) would he move to a different club with much upheaval, unknown fan or player reaction, and not a definite starter, he may have learnt from his move to Cardiff.
The only stumbling block I see is if we can pay him a competitive wage.

Coady is a different proposition, as a young talented player he may decide to take his chances at Liverpool for a couple more seasons or he may be brave and take a challenge at a low end prem or championship club which is where we may stand a chance, he knows the club, the fans and importantly only an hour n half from Liverpool, so an easy commute if he wants.
Wages may have to include promotion bonus's etc his third option is another season on loan, again we should be his choice if that becomes his option.
IMHO I think we have a better than most believe of keeping both into next season, mainly because clough has took them from their respective clubs and gave them belief and confidence which they may want to repay and if he sold the club want to be part of what looks to be exciting times ahead.
Top n bottom keep clough much better chance of keeping both AND adding more.

Freeman will be our right back next year - he was signed as Brayford's replacement at Derby and Clough will do similar here.

Would love to keep Brayford but he may well stay at Cardiff if they are relgated - we may get him back on loan at some point next season though.

If Coady signs a new Liverpool contract then they will almost certainly loan him to a Championship club to continue his development I feel. Our one chance is that they do not offer him what he wants and we can get him permanently.

It could happen with coady, we could have clauses put in that liverpool have an option to buy should he become england class in the future, something our club has recent history of producing and bringing on, might work for both parties..

But remember liverpool are looking like stepping up a level, that will mean world class midfielders, cant see em wanting coady in there for champions leagues and title races, next season he's just not that good at the moment..

Brayford, we need a miracle for him, stole the show for us since he came, and let's hope cardiff stay up and do a season long loan to us..

Think both of these lads will not start the season at the lane though..

Love to be wrong...

To my eye Coady will clearly never be Champions League footballer. So I can see Liverpool selling him in the summer, either to us or a Championship club, with a hefty sell-on clause. We'd be strong second favourites if a bidding war developed.

If Vincent Tan publicly slagged me off there's no way I'd go back there.
Brayford will leave Cardiff, it's now up to the club and Brayford to put a compromise package together that makes him stay rather than risk his arm somewhere else for a little bit extra.

Sheffield United AND ITS FANS !!!!!!! have to learn that good players cost money.
We have wasted more money over the last three years with the total shyte that's been signed or loaned as our full backs. Brayfors three years ago would have been a cheaper option as its turned out.

Just sign good players, play them in their correct positions and then use the kids and give them a chance during injuries and suspensions, this kills a number of birds with the same stone.

1) We have good players in each position, the nucleus of a good team
2) We can chuck a young un into a good team with a definite style of play to follow.
3) We can put an odd young un in the team whilst its doing well and the players can look after him because they're not hiding themselves.
4) Young players coming into a better team will always perform better with good players around them and not in a struggling one where their development will be hampered.
5) The nucleus of better players can be payed for by the fact that the squad has a number of younger players itching to get their chance rather than wasting money on the versatile, shyte, making the numbers up type of players that we've paid wages to for the last seven or eight years.

Coady maybe

Brayford is too good and would look for a move elsewhere.

With Brayford we have to hope Cardiff hold him to ransom and don't want to sell or play him...he will get Championship offer's mind...can't see Coady being here either, hope I'm wrong but I reckon he'll try higher if released or sent out on loan again...thats the problem with successful loans...other people, in a better position will want them!

We're in L1 and IMO we need to build a squad of young prospects and solid players, like Freeman and Harris.
players we can sign permanently and push for promotion next season. I'm sure Nigel will be lining deals up/putting together a 'wish list' already...of course I hope I'm proved wrong and both are playing for the blades next season.

UTB!

Whilst I'm enjoying the performances of ALL bar Paynter of the signings, does anyone think we are overrating them in our excitement at the moment?
NC might be getting more out of these players because of their desire to perform at an exciting time for them us and the club.
Harris has been as good as anyone but he does not get a mention.
Brayford was poor against Wolves - yes they can all be slightly off but is he somewhere in between the majority of the way he has played and that?
If a player feels that NC is able to develop him better that a move to another club then the player will have an influence and the club are in a better position than we have been for a good few years to tempt players, either new or existing.

Next season we're going all-out for promotion, and will need to invest and strengthen. Hopefully the cash will be made available to offer Brayford a deal that isn't too far off that offered by Championship clubs

I hear what you are saying about players in their comfort zones, but surely Coady will have more opportunity next season, playing for a manager and team he knows, with the incentive to gain promotion rather than assisting a team seeking a mid table finish in the league above. Liverpool would see how hungry he was to meet their future demands.

Brayford, well we all appreciate his skill, and that he is capable of, playing at a much higher level. I'm pretty sure he came here only because of Nigel. You never know, he may fancy the challenge ahead. At the very least he must be aware of how we Bladesmen/women think of him. Down on my knees now. Please stay.Smilie here if it would work
