:D:D My wife helped me to appreciate Doyle's strengths about three years ago. Hard to take!

I've not convinced her about Baxter yet though!!

She's a gem and a True Blade. We were at the same school but met again in later life, guess where? and that was that ( no smiley for cupid)
Met mine in the beer Keller in the old cricket pavilion when it was where today's car park is. Ahhhhhhhh, happy memories (the beer Keller), shame I didn't go to the Buchaneer that night. She made me appriciate a cup of coffee half way through the first half, a concept as unnatural as leaving the game with 5 minutes to go but it keeps her busy for 10 minutes.

Clough said....

"The base is there, we just need to add three or four quality players to make up the slender margin by which we have missed out this season".

The truth....

"The base is there, we had every opportunity but fell woefully short of automatic, if only I had addressed the centre half position and not been so negative we may not have missed out this season"

About as concise and accurate as possible there.

Just hope he knows the score now and does what is required next season. I can put up with him being too arrogant to admit the failures are mostly his fault.

No, I think you are being unfair here. While he has made mistakes in the transfer market, Done, Davies, Brayford (obvious that one) and Basham (finally) combined with the fact he has got more out of Murphy and Flynn shows he can do it. Che Adams doesn't look like the worst signing in the world either and Wallace if he can be got fit would make a world of difference to our midfield.

I know you want him to be utterly shit but please don't look past facts to get to your version of the truth. Remember Warnock and Bassett? They had a few failures along the way as well.

so he's got a 1 in 5 success rate then? All I'm saying is he's had more backing than any other manager, at the biggest club in the league (in terms of stature/fanbase/stadium) and has been more often unsuccessful than successful in the transfer market,

Why would I want him to be utterly shit? I want him to be the best manager we've ever had. He sadly isn't.

His 2014/15 season reads as 8 games for Notts County, 1 goal, with them loaning him to Nuneaton for 5 games mid-season. Perhaps he'll get more chances in the first team in League 2, but so far not exactly looking like a sale we will regret.

Agree that's a wasted year, might have been injured like Kennedy whose stats don't tell the full story.

The lads a good player and a leader on the pitch. He's 21 years old that's all. I reckon, position for position he's a tad better than Kennedy but it's harder to establish yourself the further up the pitch you play. I just think he's better than some we've imported and he'll make a good career given a fair chance. Hope so.
