The first comment in repy to OP was "in short he hasn't got a clue"

Last week said no need for lone market. Be prepared for Collins return and a request for Butler and Porter on loan

JimPhipps respons. @JamesDPhipps: A safe ride home tonight, Away Blades! Definitely not what we wanted to give you tonight. We will address the issues & do much better.

SelBaki@PATRIOTS1899: Team will settle down again. I agree it must be quick but it will happen.

You always nick my quotes on BM and post them on here you plagiarist ;)

There is more from Mr. Clough that I posted on there. I would post on here more but for some reason I cant log in via google chrome so have to open a new web browser whenever I log in

Anyway, here is Da Clough

"Thought it was a 0-0 all over"

"Mark Howards rush of blood cost us the game"

"Both team cancelled each other out"

"Poor decisions in the final third"

"With 4 minutes to go you take the 0-0 and you go home...or you try and nick one"

"Should have been two up at half time"

"We havent got the belief at the moment"

"Thought Brayford and Harris lacked quality and didnt join in our attacks"

"Its a difficult place to come so you get on te bus and you take a point"

"Wants to have a settled eleven but injuries make it impossible. Scougall and Wallace would both be in first eleven"

"Went 4-4-2 half way through the game and it was their best spell of the game so we moved it back"

"Done could be back on Tuesday. Flynn out for a week. Scougall up to 4 weeks out"

"We lack a presence up front. The idea wasnt to smash it up front but if you then you need a big man to hold it up. We looked different when Chris O Grady was here"

Basically what we fans have been saying for weeks and weeks, months and months even. We need two strikers. Is Done one of them, I hope so.

Yeah he 'blamed' Che and Reedy the same way he 'blamed' McNulty for the MK Dons defeat. Listen to the fecking interview he says he thought they were poor like everyone else for us.

So the only highlight of the season (the youngsters coming through) is over

Think the guy is losing the fucking plot big time

He actually said Reed and Adams were poor which is understandable given their age so maybe it he may not give the youngsters as much game time and give the experienced players a chance

Only Nick you stuff cause I'm you're biggest fan Roy and you talk sense.

I am so pissed off when we keep losing (only 3wins in 3 months) I do a scatter gun assasination on threads. BUT I honestly believe NC is a square peg in a round hole and he still has the arrogance and stubbornness of a man with a chip on his shoulder and the club is bigger than him. I was his biggest fan when he got us up the table but successive failed attempts to build a promotion winning squad with the support and resources at his disposal makes me feel he won't do it for us?

As Jim and Baki said we need to fix it and quick. If we leave it another season we will lose 5,000 fans (I said the last bit)

Yes your right he did say they were poor like everybody else but what kind of manager points out the two teenagers of the team and then say he will look at playing the younger players less, I'm sorry to break it to you but that is him putting the blame on them.
- I simply can't respect a manger who points out individual players, especially youth players, its classless imho.

For once I don't think we can blame the board at all. Clough has been backed more than other manager in the league with maybe Cotterill only coming close

So he should use Che and Reedy as impact subs then FFS.
That way they don't have too much responsibility and they can grow into it. Get Doyle and Higdon to do the mans work and make a change at an appropriate time.

Bash is much better at CB but whilst we are weak in midfield and lack height all over the pitch then use Kennedy and McEveley at CB with Bash and Doyle in central mid. Then bring Coutts on half way through - he is not fit enough to drive the midfiled for 90 mins at the moment

Agreed, but probably need more experience to correct current poor league form. The question is, do the more experienced players have the quality and balls to do it?

Not heard the interview , but if Mr Clough has had a go at the younger players , he is imo bang out of order . To succeed you need a mix of raw enthusiastic youth and experienced pros . Its the more senior players who should stand up and be counted and hold there heads in shame.

The positives this season has been the younger players breaking into the first team .

Mr Clough is the right man for the job , but his comments and decision making , are becoming more and more bizarre . The only benefit of doubt , i can give him , is that he is becoming more and more pissed off , as we are , and the interview was straight after the game.

UTB

At least he has openly admitted something is wrong.

Previous managers would just literally stick with same team regardless of form.

Having a go at our younger players is a tactical masterstroke. Look how McNulty is thriving from it. JCR too.

It's not all down to lack of a quality striker. We're creating fuck all.

But a striker would have helped. As does slagging of Brayford for not getting involved. His head will be spinning tonight, honeymoon over, what have I done?

Beards will be out of fashion soon and all will be forgotten. His signing should have been the icing on the cake, instead it was the first piece of a jigsaw.

I am completely speechless at such an appalling interview.

It just seems that history at Derby is repeating itself.#

Read this link, from paragraph nine onwards. ''Luke Moore also did well.............
The bad mouthing off of players, the bizarre tactics, the poor man management, the strops with players, strikers not replaced. players played out of position,Karp signings. baffling tactics, baffling substitutions. etc etc

Scarey stuff. The big difference is it does mention lack of investment but that's a complete opposite to what he's had here. NC can hardly complain there's isn't a manger in the league who hasn't had the money he has had.

You want him to succeed of course, but a headless chicken springs to mind.

Its amazing how often a cliche from a quote can turn the meaning on its head this is such a case.Yes he did say Adams and Reed were not up to par but he did,nt make scapegoats of them but critical of most of the team he is a great beleaver in youth that aint gonna change would you agree roy?.

If he was the first piece in the jigsaw @ £1.5M it's gonna be an expensive picture

"Since then, a semi-fit Chris Porter has been at the tip of the formation. A player who has been out with a hip injury for two years and played only 40 games. His style of play doesn’t fit the 4-2-3-1 system, which has been favoured this season. In all honesty, many Derby supporters don’t know what system Chris Porter does fit into."

"
There has been a loss of faith in Clough during the recent poor run of results. His tactics baffle at times, as do the timings of his substitutions or lack thereof. There is also the situation regarding Cywka and Clough’s constant battering of players in the press. None have been as bad as the Cywka incident, but he is constantly chipping away at his players and their confidence is being eaten away by the man supposedly there to inspire. It is poor man management and if the players need anything at the moment, it’s confidence."

Hmm, deja vu

How right you are - I've just read it and there is an ominous sense of deja vu knocking about!
