Why does any observation from anyone on here that doesn proclaim clough as the messiah draw such a ridiculous reaction ? The guy has listed his reasons and his opinions as to why and its clearly not because he isnt giving the guy any credit or trying to be cleverWell I wondered how long it would take before someone found something that wasn't quite right about Tueday night. Just under 24hours from the final whistle we have this ridiculous post. The OP must have been scratching his head all day thinking up this topic with the thought 'I've got to find something that wasn't right'.
Look at Koeman's CV - played for and managed some of the top clubs across Europe. The reason why Koeman spat his dummy out was because on Tuesday night Cloughie outhought, otwitted, out 'tacticed' him. He was clearly embarrassed. And what do we say - Cloughie should sit in the stands.
For the OP to 'understand' Koeman's reaction is disrespectful to our manager and what he achieved.
I would like to say 'unbelievable' but you know what it isn't.
Nigel Clough and the Blades (supporters) fit together like hand in glove. Hard working, honest, passionate, giving 100% and with a degree of quality. The more passionate he is the greater the crowd will respond. We have to create an 'us against the world' attitude and I want Cloughie during the game to be a catalyst. Then after the game may he continue to remain dignified.
Let's start giving the guy some credit and stop trying to be clever with these types of recommendations.

I would suggest you read the guys post properly in stead of just slamming him for dreaming up reasons for having a pop at the manager .he is obviously concerned enough to have took the time to explain this I suggest you take the time to read it before you start giving churchillian rabble rousing speeches
I think your're being over emotionalI'm not on about our manager being passionate. I'm saying he is over-emotional at the present time. Earlier in the week I posted that I sat within 30 yards of him at Fleetwood and his behaviour was bizarre. He was red-faced, o.t.t. in bollocking players for the slightest mistakes, often turning to a bench which included young players amongst the subs and cursing mistakes by our players, he bollocked the linesman and referee in the most extreme ways possible, talk about panto season it was all there.
I'd mentioned it briefly after previous games and believe me there is an issue here. Is bollocking players and showing exasperation the best way to get the most out of your players? Of course it is not.
Then last night the handbags thing happened and I thought at the time "that's been coming" and it's symptomatic of what I'd been thinking. Of course after such an excellent display it is a bad time to bring it up but I hope Clough has his blood pressure checked regularly.
I'll leave it on the table.
More of our fans DID sit in the stand than the officially reported 17 odd thousand on Tuesday. I sit in the John Street so could see South Stand: almost full - less than 100 spare seats, Kop: maybe 1500 spare seats, Bramall Lane: perhaps 2500 empty. John Street looked busy, so I'll cautiously estimate 2000 empty seats which puts the attendance at closer to 26000-27000.
Excellent article about NC here. A couple of excerpts:
Bramall Lane was a bearpit on Tuesday and made any club who don’t take the cups seriously look ridiculous. ‘It was a remarkable effort by the players and the supporters,’ said Clough.
Of course, there had to be controversy, too, with a Clough involved. Koeman refused to shake hands due to what he considered a lack of respect from the Blades bench — including coach Chris Morgan, who was sent to the stands — towards fourth official Paul Tierney.
Even Brian Clough would have been hard-pressed to beat Nigel’s one-liner about the snub. ‘To say I’m not too concerned is an understatement — I couldn’t care less,’ he said.
Like father, like son.![]()

"In Nigel Clough’s first week as Sheffield United manager, he offered to help a wayward forward with extra shooting practice after training only to be told by the player he had an important appointment with his tattooist".
Who do we reckon this is? King? Taylor?
bornablade . good post . However if you are referring to Woodward fan post , the guys observations are actually correct.
I would say 95% of fans on this forum are very pro Mr Clough , and as you say , he fits like a glove with SUFC , from the board to the playing staff . Over the last couple of league games Mr Clough / Mr Garner have got very excited and animated on the touch line , due to players not carrying out instructions or making wrong individual decisions .
The last thing we all want is Mr Clough becoming ill due to the pressure / stress , which is a possibility , (although extreme ) , managing a football club , especially with the expectations at BDTBL.
What we are missing is a true leader on the pitch . (we had 11 on the field of play against Southampton .) which will take a tremendous pressure off Mr Clough.
This requires to be carried over to the league 1 promotion push , where the pressure is a completely different ball game , to the cup competitions .
Mr Clough has transformed the infrastructure of the club , with all things positive . Mr Clough is here to stay and both Mr Clough and the players handle the media in a first class , professional manner.
He is a honest , trustworthy , dignified , humble manager who is a credit to the club and his profession.
We all want him to stay healthy and fit . Mr Koeman reaction was summed up perfectly by Mr Clough and is now history . 2015 will be the first step forward in the progression of SUFC.
We all want Mr Clough to stay fit and healthy , thats all.
