Time to do the talking on the pitch. Nothing he can say will undo the recent debacles against teams we should be beating if serious contenders. Only positive results and performances over the next few weeks can save us and him now.

Sounds like we on titanic

Well I thought he came across really well, and I'm glad he's in charge of the team.

Are any of these negative ;) views based on listening to the interview?

"An incredibly difficult game" he says, who does he think we are playing it's Baaaaarnsley not Brazil you chump.

At work in the morning after Brazil lost 7-1 to Germany, I came up to a Barnsley fan and asked her "Did you see Brazil last night?". She nodded. I then went on "They played just like Baaarnsley!". she stuck two fingers at me :D

Barnsley are on a good run that's prob why he says it will be a hard game, I would have spoke more on how important to win this game for the players and especially the fans.

Fine, but when he describes any game as anything other than a walk in the park for the world's greatest football team, he's accused of being negative. Then he says we should be looking to win and it's all wrong again. Sounds like nothing is good enough.

Being "positive" isn't as easy as it sounds. It's like the fans who chant "attack, attack, attack" when losing, as if this is something the team hadn't thought of. To attack you have to win certain battles on the field - both tactical and individual battles. It isn't just a matter of deciding that we're going to play positively and spend most of the time attacking.

Everyone accepts that the team isn't playing as well as it should at present, but that doesn't mean everything the manager says is automatically invalid.

Who do you think we are, Real Madrid ?.
If anybody thinks that tomorrow is going to be anything other than an "incredibly difficult" game then you're wrong, what he stated is merely the truth
No doubt you are already rehearsing your lame excuses like Negative Nigel just in case we lose eh  it don't matter who we think we are we should not be shitting ourselves at the prospect of playing Barnsley.

I've always thought Clough interviewed well, he talks a good game. Too many below par performances this season for my liking however.

This I can agree with to some extent.

I posted it bc the differences between what he actually says and what gets talked about are pretty striking.

He also had some interesting points.to make about the Championship, and other subjects.

The trend for managers before derby games nationally for a.long time.now has been to talk things down and try and relieve the pressure, "It's just another three points to play for," and all that.

This would be a genuine criticism of possession football in general ie the understandable desire for.patience sometimes overcomes the real need for urgency. Happened last week against Crewe at 1-1.

The trouble is, if you listen back to his interviews over the season, how many times has he said 'poor decision making in the final 3rd', 'delivery at set pieces not good enough', 'defending set pieces was not good enough' yet we're still doing the same things 40 odd games in. What are the management and coaching staff doing ?

Well we've suddenly become a threat from corners haven't we? A couple of goals, a penalty and a sending off, and we hit the post last week.

When was the last time you saw a floater..? :-)

Well said, have a great day, let's hope we get the result we want and then we can relax a little.
