I see from a copy of the Sheff Telegraph (no of course I don't buy it) that Clough is looking to sharpen the fitness of the players.

I particularly like Peter McKee's cartoon but it is exceedingly harsh on both Matt Hill and Elliott Whitehouse don't yer think?

The fitness allegations are standard issue upon managerial changes.

I reckon a losing team often looks sluggish due to their mental state. Warnock's teams scored so many late goals as much because of the team spirit as supposedly better fitness.

I see from the official site that Clough wants the Blades to be "assertive".

This got me thinking about Brandy and his stupid sending off for retaliation. I've never approved of our players being red-carded, but thinking back to players like Vinny Jones, Wally Downes and Billy Whitehurst, at least they earned their marching orders by 'putting themselves about'.
