Is a sea change happening over opposition fans opinions about why they are not performing against us?

For some time of course, the stock response to a failure to get the required result against us has been “having an off day.” This has been particularly true in the Premier League when teams have suffered the perceived embarrassment of being schooled by the relegation favourites.

Now it has become clear that we are
actually a decent side, there seems to have been a shift...

Certainly according to Roys “View from”


Man City fans were up in arms that we didn’t roll over like Villa and in fact the foul count was even at 13 each.

The latest whiners are Palace, but historically it turns out that they lead the
league in diving with Saha top of the pile for diving bookings.

Surly is how I'd put it, his mates becoming a bit of a one trick pony also, good footballers, somewhat overrated IMHO.

Thats because our style has changed in recent matches, without McGoldrick we struggle to retain possession in their half playing a fluid passing game.
I would like Beans and Roybgiv to raise this issue in their podcast and whether it’s something to worry about or just a blip.

Up to Xmas we had long spells in most matches where we outplayed the opposition.
We made Man Utd and Burnley look like teams from a division below us....we were so superior.....playing little triangles all over the pitch.
It made no logical sense.....opposition fans assumed it must have been their team having a severe off day.

After Xmas we are no where near as good in possession.
We have been brilliant out of possession, so solid, organised and working hard making it tough.....closer to the Burnley/Stoke style stereotype.

I watched the whole of Saturdays game and on the day Palace did look a higher quality outfit than us but their main tactic was “pass it to Zaha”.
We had more know how and a better Warnock style battling spirit....can understand why Palace fans might feel bitter.

Maybe it is because teams are starting to give us some respect and try a high press on us Norwood seems to be a target for this. When teams don't let each other have time on the ball you are not going to see a lot of football played that is good on the eyes.
