Skysports.com understands Colchester face a fight to keep hold of striker Clive Platt this summer.

The big striker is believed to be attracting interest from several Championship sides after impressing last term at Layer Road.

The 30-year-old scored eight goals last season and proved to be a handful for most defences in the Championship.

Norwich and Sheffield United are thought to be tracking the former MK Dons and Peterborough hit-man as they look to bolster their attacking options for next season.

Colchester are facing a battle to keep hold of their top performers following their relegation to League One.

Platt is believed to have held talks with Colchester officials to discuss his future and he has indicated he would be interested in securing a move back to the Championship.

Another striker???

It's not that he is another stroler, it's that he is CRAP

Woo hoo! Are they serious? Clive Platt? The one and only Clive Platt, scorer of an amazing eight goals last season? He's got a quality pedigree, having played for not only Peterborough, but also the mighty MK Dons.

They must be bloody desperate for a story if that's the best they can come up with.
