“Taking a step back … is someone leaking in the hope Wilder walks out?”

Looks to me more like a question. Could take a step the other way. (IF it is a club leak it won’t save them money as CW’s contract will be watertight. Pettiness isn’t a good luck for anyone involved)

Did Bettis take the snaps at the airport or is that just a coincidence?

I have no idea of who’s done what but l’m not the one using conjecture as facts as a few are.

Self awareness, arrogance, or a lesson in how to write your own resignation letter?

Chief Exec - Bettis : “We will be more data driven than it has been historically and we'll be adding one or two to that department in terms of data analysis,”

Owner (and data analytics expert) - Rosen : “We will do this by using data and analytics far more effectively to recruit the best and brightest talent.”

Manager - Wilder: “Stick your data where you want to stick your data” - on Radio Sheffield

Regardless of your view of data, would you contradict and disrespect your boss so publicly and brazenly?
I'd go for arrogance with a large touch of narcissistic behaviour.

What exactly do you want them to communicate right now?
Right now there’s only one thing we all want some clarity on. But since they arrived we have had absolutely no information on what they have planned for the club. If you spend £100m to buy a football club, you’d hope that there is a solid business plan with a vision of how you are going to improve and progress the club. We haven’t seen any detail of what the vision is. So what I’d like to see/hear…
1) What was the remit for Wilder this season - how did he do? What is his future?
2) What are the short, medium and long term goals for the club?
3) what expertise and financial clout do the owners bring - and how do they feel that will benefit us in achieving those goals.
4) what are the plans and timescales ( and progress) for the training ground and Academy.
5) do they plan any changes / upgrades to the stadium?
6) How exactly do they see the AI recruitment model being deployed?
7) who are the key figures in the football set up besides the manager … and what is their remit?
There are literally loads more questions I’d love answering… but at the moment the communication appears poor and surely this in itself was something that could only improve after PAs awful approach to it.
I don’t expect detailed financial disclosure or release of sensitive info but I do expect a new ownership to introduce itself and give us a bit of info on their vision and plans.
Oh … and try to avoid making a complete hash of deciding the managers future.

He's a grown man. I dont think it's Wilder's responsibility to police what he says. People are hysterical over Wilder and hold the most ridiculous things against him.

A few thoughts, from the real world.

He is a grown man. It is absolutely CW's responsibility to police what he says, as CW's position here appears to be on the line. Chris is currently 'on trial', effectively, for his job.

I'd be amazed if the owners aren't watching social media for comments either way, and whether he likes it or not, his mate using twitter as he has really isn't adding to the pro's of keeping CW on.

They have already seen CW's behaviour up close and in glorious technicolour, as has the rest of the world.

The Americans don't look too kindly on actions that tarnish the clubs image.

A good mate might sit Chris down and tell him some home truths about what it all looks like. Might ........

It's naïve beyond belief and not helpful to CW at all.

This isn't some dreamlike, S2, red and white tinted glasses, 92 points (ad infintium) world. This is hard business and sometimes you need to steady the ship, check your behaviour and those around you, check what's going on and adapt.

Or you lose.

Come on. A journalist isn’t going to outright say one side is leaking. I personally think it’s as close as you’ll get to acknowledgement of where it’s coming from. But that is obviously just me.

They've barely had the club for 6 months, they've also stated on a couple of occasions their long term goal is to have us as an established PL side.

How many times have you seen owners of other clubs start going into the detail you want there? So this is a you issue as you seem to have some expectations that is way out of line with how football club owners work.

So I would go as far to say there's a different issue at play here and you probably have set out your stall already that the new mob are bad news. That's fine, just don't hide behind nonsense around communication.

There is absolutely no way they would ever answer Q's 3, 6, 7.

4/5 Would be more something for Bettis too. No ownership with any sense is going to publicly review a managers performance and discuss his future.

Being honest wasn't in the happy clapping club when he came back but did a good rebuild last season and can't argue with the points total although tactically in certain games looked Sunday league. That said off field and a certain radio interview the bloke is so cringe leaves me in the couldn't give a fuck if he stays or goes camp.
I just hope these owners have a good plan up their sleeves.....

Well take another step back.

If your employer was leaking stuff in the media designed to make you quit. Would you?

I certainly wouldnt and I’d bet wilder wouldn’t either.

I’d think no, fuck you - if you want me gone pay me what I’m due.

They’ll know that too. Which is what makes me think it’s a load of bollocks.

How do you know the employer has leaked this to the media?

From what little we know about the leaks it seems to be nothing from the owners side. Former players seems to be the most common link. Jimmy Ramble gave no clues other than long standing sources, so again, can’t be the owners who have been in place 6 months. Then there is Wilder’s mate mouthing off.

He’s trying to create something. He’s taken a side. Desperate for views. Doesn’t seem to learn.

We’ll just have to disagree.

To be totally honest, l have more concerns about what our player budget/transactions are than whether Wilder stays or goes.

I don’t. Nixon tweeted it.

If you read my posts I am arguing that it’s highly unlikely it was the owners leaking it.

Hence the last line of my post ‘which is why I think it’s a load of bollocks’

You can’t moan at me about conjecture and then base a whole view on “well I know what I’d do”.

Sean Thornton agree to disagree as you say, as ever I see both sides and I’m honest enough to say that probably if I hadn’t personally felt this was coming from the owners anyway, Nixon’s tweet might have meant a bit less to me. Other things are more important anyway as you say.

The problem now is transfer strategy is fucked one way or another as if wilders going new man (or woman) needs to bed in see what's needed, new players won't get pre season etc

The whole reason he is going is because he doesn't agree with AI signings moving forward. Its highly likely whoever comes in won't be in charge of the signings and only the team they have infront of them, they'll be more of a "head coach" than a manager.

Yanks love that term.

Even if you are a die hard Wilder out the fact that we are nearly three weeks on from the final game where surely they had positive or negative opinions before that one game and they seemingly haven't made their mind up is not a good look.

I get that their football experience is limited but the players will be back in a few weeks and this issue should have been put to bed one way or another 2 and a half weeks ago at most. Even then sacking a manager with 90+ points after rebuilding the side would be divisive and risky but to take this long would add another layer to it.

Who would do a better job?

This Wit guy pissed me off first time around, and on steroids now. Who the f does he think he is?
I’ve been pretty much 50/50 on stay/go, but I find his mate’s behaviour galling, and the fact CW doesn’t wind him is a poor look.
He's an absolute "look at me" chav who tries to come across as a high flying business man. Yeah he has a successful company, but he's an absolute bell of a bloke.

He's got a superiority complex and main character syndrome. All makes much more sense once you see that.

I am thinking that the reason PA kept having El Accounto around putting stuff out on Twitter was to combat some of the stuff Wit was saying during his tenure.

Sorry mate but what a load of rubbish.
To start with I’m not remotely against the new owners … that’s just your assumption.
The information I’d like to see would be present in much greater detail in any half decent Business Plan (and I’ve read plenty)… I’m simply asking that they communicate a precis of it to their main customer base… not unreasonable.
As many people have said, American owners will operate differently to others … take a look at any of the big American Sports teams and you’ll see an enormous amount of work put into an effective communication strategy. It’s very important in this day and age … and one of our directors has huge experience in the community engagement element of teams in Cleveland and Philadelphia.
“Nonsense around Communication” …. Perhaps you’ve missed the fact that we’re living in the Communication Age.
As for your final point … they seemed to do exactly that when they gave him the contract extension.
You’ve misread me… I’d desperately like them to succeed and keeping the fans engaged is a key part of them doing so… I’m just making that point.

I agree - much as Wilder has done a lot of good things - the ‘noise’ from his mates is really annoying ‘baggage’. Don’t think new ‘Owners’ will tolerate this much longer. It’s not normal…. you didn’t get this from ‘Hecky’s mate’s or ‘Slav’s mates or even ‘Adkin’s’ mates.

Yep, throw in the likes of Gage who likes to chime in from time to time as well. It's all a bit bizarre and I am not sure many other clubs have this sort of nonsense going on.

Adkins had mates?

Yeah…. I loved everything about Wilder Mk 1 & actually what he was left with last summer he did a great job for most of last season. BUT…. His behaviour with his mates at times is concerning & is becoming a bigger distraction.
